Crowbar hasn't had a significant storyline since the Hardcore title battles earlier this year with Terry Funk and Meng. Crowbar is reportedly a victim of cost-cutting measures. After the release of Crowbar on Thursday, WCW appears to be cutting more wrestlers from its roster soon. Also: A few names scheduled for this Monday's Nitro. - Up next on the WCW chopping block appears to be Big Vito, Harris Brothers, and Bam Bam Bigelow. Crowbar was released on Thursday as part of "cost-cutting measures." - Crowbar was granted a full release so he is able to jump to the WWF. Previously, the WWF was interested in Crowbar when he worked as Devon Storm. - On the talent list for 3/12 WCW Nitro are: Reno, EZ Money, and Midajah. (Not like there's enough of that to go around) Anyhoo, there is an petition open to "Save Stacy Carter and The King." Previously, it was thought that Tazz would only be a temporary replacement. **3/8 WWF Smackdown had a 5.4 overnight rating with an 8 share. Last week, Smackdown had the same rating. **Still no further word on the line-up for WrestleMania, although WWF management's goal as of two weeks ago was to have virtually every match booked by this Monday's Raw, giving them six shows (three Raws, three Smackdowns) to promote the line-up. **Speaking of WrestleMania, there is some consideration being given to a Chris Jericho vs. William Regal match at the PPV. **The Kansas City Star newspaper has an item today saying that Mick Foley has been talking to Harley Race about writing his biography. "Harley's talked to me about possibly writing his biography," Foley is quoted as saying. "Have you read his book? Kid Kash will be getting a tryout against indy wrestler, Jackie Fulton. **The May 6 WCW PPV is now titled "The Big Bang." It was originally scheduled to be the "relaunch" of WCW under Eric Bischoff and Fusient Media. An ad on the back of the new WCW Magazine plugs the event: "May 6th, Ten billion years ago: The Big Bang, the creation of the Universe... May 6, 2001, The Big Bang, the Creation of the new WCW. This time it's on pay per view." The website that was supposed to be dedicated to that PPV (BigBangMay6.com) has not been created. **WCW remains one of the main images on Fusient's website, although all signs this week point toward the deal being on life support. There are more stories of Fusient and Eric Bischoff turning away phone calls regarding WCW matters and Brad Siegel exploring other options. Siegel is scheduled to return to work next Monday from his vacation. **Simon Diamond is apparenlty very likely to be on his way to WCW. In their meeting a few weeks ago, Diamond really impresed Johnny Ace. At this time, there is no word on the status of Dawn Marie, Diamond's fiancee. Wrestling reports that Viewers Choice received a call from ECW lawyers today, and a subsequent call was made to Viewers Choice Canada director of programming Bill Custers. The lawyer informed them that this Sunday's ECW PPV was canceled. He talked to Jim Ross about the situation and Ross told him that Vince claims he will address the situation shortly. He also said that the only WWF stars he has heard from were Terri Runnels, Steve Lombardi, Michael Cole and Bruno Laura (Harvey Whippleman), and surprisingly to Lawler, Shawn Michaels. The Canadian promoter, Ernie Todd, who runs the NWA sponsered Canadian Wrestling Federation, has written an article on the group's website detailing how he sent Sabu cheques for plane fare, money for a work permit and a retainer,which were all cashed. Todd then discovered Sabu's Garden City booking with the HWOW group in Garden City. Their promter stated that he had paid a $1000 retainer for Sabu to Scott D'Amore to make sure Sabu would be at his show. Then, mid week, Sabu left for Mexico taking bookings there after cashing all these previous cheques. The "A" team will be Vasgersian, Jesse Ventura (the Teflon announcer because he's the highest paid guy in the league, something of this league's version of Kevin Nash) and Mike Adamle (who did a real good job last week). Ross will team with Dick Butkus to do the "B" game. EMonline wrote it as after the huge rating the first week, and Vasgersian then being dumped, the ratings plummeted, trying to give the indication that may have been part of the reason for the ratings decline. Until Adamle was put in the main booth, Ross' commentary was easily the best thing about the league.
