Since none of the current writers know him, Michaels asks everyone to be patient while they figure out the best plan to bring him back to television. Michaels also admits to be nervous about getting back into the ring, stating it's been "one hell of a long time" since he's done anything "remotely close to having a good match." Michaels said that while he is prepared mentally and is training, he won't know how he will be until he gets in there and does it. Michaels notes that he will be closing the website on March 30th, which as irony would have it, is Wrestlemania 17 weekend. ______________________________________________________________________ [News from The WWF] **WWF "The Music vol. 5" is expected to debut very high next week on the Billboard charts **Christian & York were scheduled to lose this Monday on Nitro in the first round of the WCW cruiserweight tag team title tournament. But of course aren't due to signing contracts with the WWF. **Rhino should debut on WWF television sometime in March. **The WWF is currently working on "Smackdown! 3" for PlayStation 2. **There's a great article on Kurt Angle at SLAM! Taylor's agent, Mark Lepselter said that McMahon and Taylor spoke this week although it wasn't confirmed about what type of position they were talking about. (Cred: WObserver) ______________________________________________________________________ [Article] More XFL ratings woes More bad news when it comes to XFL ratings. The ratings fell another 20% last night in prime time overnights to a 2.8 rating and a 5 share. To put things in perspective, the second lowest rated network for the night, FOX, drew a 6.4. That means when the final numbers come in, they should hover around a 2.5. There have been what have really been laughable attempts at positive spin of last week's number (3.1 final; by the way, to clear up a lot of stuff, last week's overnight number was a 3.5, not the 3.8 that was reported in virtually every media story because the AP ran with it, the 3.8 overnight was based on markets the show aired in prime time which meant most of the Mountain time zone and all of the Pacific time zone weren't included, the 3.5 was based on 48 of the top 49 metered markets--not including Birmingham, and the 3.1 was the final rating that didn't come in until Wednesday, long after most publications had already written their story. Ratings aren't that confusing, but even in the sports media it's pretty clear, because for whatever reason, they've never been waiting to jump on bad ratings like this league, that much of the media confeses prime time metered market ratings, metered market ratings, fast nationals, cable vs. national ratings on a cable show and nationals as if they're all the same thing and all are different). There was really no big drop after the first half hour (3.3) as the rating hovered solidly between 2.6 to 2.9, ending at 2.7. Last week's lack of big drop made people think maybe the big drop days were over, but this number shows that isn't the case.
