According to an article in the Portland Tribune by Kerry Eggers, Piper will be doing a rap album and video for the prominent gangster rap label Death Row Records, whose president Suge Knight is currently in prison. Piper is upset over the recent raps of Eminem and he wants to do his own raps that will include no profanities. To read more of this article,just click http://www.roddyraw.com/news.html ______________________________________________________________________ [News from The WWF] **WWOR-TV Channel 9, the UPN affiliate that serves New York and New Jersey, did a piece on Tazz during their nightly news following Smackdown. The piece showed Tazz going back to his old stomping grounds, Franklin K. Lane High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. He talked about how he was a loner, but that being on the football team kept him out of trouble and off the streets. They even showed his old high school football team picture. Tazz walked around the field, and commented on the Astroturf that replaced the dirt field he played on. They showed Tazz sitting in the Principal's office, and he joked he had been here before. Tazz then spoke to a group of students, telling them they could accomplish anything if they tried, and he was proof of it. He also said he was going to do what he could to bring football back to the school, since the team was eliminated as a result of budget cutbacks. **Smackdown scored a 5.2 rating with a 7 share in the Overnight Metered Market ratings for UPN last night. Final ratings will be available later. **According to an article in Variety, the WWF may be looking to buyout independent film company Artisan, the group behind the Blair Witch films. Artisan, which was asking for $300 million after their initial Blair Witch success, may now go for $150 following an unsuccessful series of films, and a failed IPO. Artisan denies they are in discussions with the WWF for a buyout, and would only say that they have had talks with the WWF over handling video distribution for them. The WWF gave a blanket statement saying that they were looking into expanding into video and film, but gave no specifics. In the column, Keller took Jim Ross to task over his recent "Ross Report" columns, saying he was playing political games. In particular, the "I'll drink his Kool-Aid" comment in reference to ECW owner Paul Heyman. Keller went on to say that Heyman "fibbed a lot," claimed ECW workers don't believe a word he says and roll their eyes after he gives inspirational speeches, and says ECW workers are loyal to Heyman like a cult leader. ECW producer Gabe Sapolski wrote a response to Keller's article, disputing some of what was said: Mr. Keller, As an ECW employee since September of 1993 and someone who has worked on almost a daily basis with Paul Heyman since 1995, I take great offense to some of your assumptions and am disheartened by some of the inaccuracies in your 2/17 Keller's Take column. First of all you state that paychecks bounce like this is a timely reference. I can personally attest that it has been almost two years since I have received a paycheck that has bounced. I also received all my back pay and bank penalty expenses shortly after the last bounced check. Please do not mislead your readers into thinking that ECW has recently bounced paychecks with such an open statement. Granted we are behind on pay, but Paul Heyman has been up front about all missed checks, as I always knew in advance when we were or were not receiving a check. The option is always there for someone who can't weather this storm to get another job. We are all with ECW by choice. For reasons stated later in this letter, you will see why I'm not about to abandon Paul in tough times. Angle had several interesting things to say. WrestlingObserver.com was used as the source. -Angle never liked wrestling until 1998, when he got hooked on the storylines. He turned down the WWF in 1996 after winning in the Olympics. -His brother, Eric, is currently training in Louisville. Angle thinks he can make it in the WWF, but it will probably take some time. -He really believes in the "three I's," but takes it over the top for TV. -Put over Rock, Triple H, Undertaker, Kane, Mick Foley, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit as helping him in his first WWF year. He said Triple H came up with a lot of his character and is the best heel in the business. -Angle said a number of wrestlers deserve to be in the Wrestlemania main event, but that Steve Austin and Rock probably deserve it more. He feels it is their time and he will have his own someday. -Wants his character to become more aggressive and not take as many beatings. -Said if he loses on Sunday to Rock, he will have a rematch before Wrestlemania. -Wants the Stephanie/Triple H/Angle storyline to come back. -Said Jeff Jarrett, Sting, Goldberg, and DDP all have talent that just needs to be brought together.
