The first week's show will be an introduction to all the wrestlers in the promotion. The second week's show will be a "Best of" show, highlighting the best matches in CZW history, and the third show will be the first actual show. CZW will be airing in ECW's old timeslot in all of these markets; Saturdays at 9 PM ______________________________________________________________________ [News from The WWF] **Due to a curling tournament, Canadian wrestling fans will be unable to watch this Monday's RAW Is WAR program at it's regular 9 PM (eastern) start time on TSN. However, RAW Is WAR will air at midnight, which is usually when the show's replay airs. **The Nielsen overnight metered broadcast ratings are in for last night's XFL game and the ratings slide continued. After posting a 10.3 overnight metered rating in week one, the broadcast slid to a 5.1 last week, and fell even further last night, scoring just a 3.8 overnight metered rating, with a 7 share. There is no way that this can be seen as anything other than what it is for the XFL and the WWF, and that is bad news. **Today's New York Daily News has another two XFL articles. One, by Thomas Hackett, claims the smart money isn't counting the XFL out, crediting that to the McMahon myth. Actually, most of the "smart money" (most astute sports people that I knew) counted him out from day one and weren't even fazed by the first weeks ratings. I thought the combination of NBC and Vince McMahon's promotional abilities gave it a 50-50 chance and figured it was better to wait until the presentation to judge. It's not dead, but there is no way to read a positive out of last night's number, especially since they again had a game end on the last play. If there is one solace, it is because the game was close, this game actually peaked for the finish at 4.0 as opposed to declining with every quarter, which may be an indication that this is where the rating is going to settle. The consensus has always been to wait until week four to make the judgement, but the evidence came in much quicker than anyone anticipated. There was also a negative guest column ripping into the league for all the expected things, lack of respect for women, lack of respect for the players (bad health insurance). That column pretty much considered XFL going out of business as a given. (Cred: ultimowrestling) _______________ [News from WCW] **Eric Bischoff is going to Japan next month to negotiate talent- related deals with Toryumon and New Japan Pro Wrestling. If agreements are reached, several of Japan's Junior Heavyweight wrestlers will come to America and probably make their WCW debuts at the May 6th pay-per-view. **Lance Storm wrote a very interesting commentary on his web site (stormwrestling.com) regarding ECW wrestlers being asked to do try- outs with WCW. Basically his advice to the guys was if asked, to take the try-out and not let ego get in the way of business. (Cred: pwtorch) ______________________________________________________________________ [Article] Brian Clarke Talks Bryan Clark of Kronik -Starts off by discussing his concussion. The problem came when Animal couldn't get a good shot because security failed to clear the aisle of people. There was a problem with the timing. He suffered a concussion but should be cleared real soon. Its not his first concussion and it won't be his last. -Thinks that the changes in the company are good, with Bischoff and Ace controlling things. -Says the locker room is working a lot harder now since the buy out. Guys that weren't getting into shape before are now busting their butts. -Says he never understood the whole direction they were going with Russo. As soon as they got really hot as a face team Russo turned them heel and killed it. He had no problems with him at all, but didn't understand some of the things he did. -Thinks that once the new ownership gets settled, they'll be back in the tag title picture once again. -Isn't sure if the dark period that has been rumored for April is a sure deal yet. He says he's heard the rumors but as far as he knows it isn't a done deal. -Has gotten to talk to Bischoff personally since the buy out. He's very glad he's back. He believes the first 6 months after the change will be the most important for the company. -Wants to work more of his moves back into his repertoire. He hasn't been able to do as much due to his knee injury a while ago but he now feels its at 100% and that he can start doing some his old high flying stuff again.
