They had teased the segment as being about a wrestler who had his life saved by the WWF. They referred to Regal as a "two time champion," and included comments from Regal and Triple H. They said his problem started with painkillers in 1995 to heal injuries. He said he was so addicted, he would get sick when he tried to stop. Vicodin was named as one of the drugs, and a pharmacist attested to its addictive nature. It was mentioned that he lost jobs in both WWF and WCW because of his addiction. Regal said that the WWF put him in rehab, and pointed out that he had never drawn money for the company, and had only caused problems for them during his previous stay there. He credited the company for saving his life. Triple H said Regal's story and recovery was inspirational. That is down from the 5.5 that they have done the last two weeks. The WWF reported that net income for the third quarter of this year was $11.7 million, as compared to the $15.7 million that they generated the same period a year ago. The WWF had warned in September that their third quarter numbers would be disappointing due to lower than expected revenue in their core business. The WWF actually saw their third quarter revenue rise 13%, from $98.4 million a year ago to $111.2 for the third quarter of the current year. Despite the negative earnings announcement, the WWF stock was up a dollar a share today. The reason for the rise is that Wall Street had projected that the WWF would come in at 15 cents a share and they came in a penny higher.
