It seems like he's agreed to terms. We had some visa issues we had to address. I think those things have been addressed. We haven't got a signed contract, but I think he'll be coming into the fold. We're looking forward to working with him. He has a real unique look and he's certainly a heck of a hand. There's really no one else I can think of that's new that we haven't already talked about. We signed Rhino, we signed Justin Credible, and Jerry Lynn has essentially agreed to terms, and we're just waiting on getting his contracted executed. We should have that back this week. There's really no one else that we're close to signing. There's no one we're actually recruiting other than those guys. There's nobody out there that we're waiting on." Neither contract had been received back by the office as of yesterday but the contracts have been signed by the main parties. Expect both to be made available to Extreme Championship Wrestling should they be needed for the scheduled 3/11 Living Dangerously PPV. **Chyna did an interview in the NY Daily News today where it's reported that she has ended her relationship with Triple H. In the story, she also said that when she first came to the WWF, some of the male wrestlers did not want to lose to her. She also has plans to continue acting. He mentioned that he would be doing a personal appearance on 3/17 in Charlotte, NC from 11am-2pm at the Alabama Grill at the Concord Mills Mall. Speaking about his recent UPW match with Christopher Daniels, RVD said he was very happy how it turned out and he wants to do more work with UPW. He also discussed his upcoming trip to wrestle for All Japan. The tour begins on February 16 and lasts for two weeks. RVD will be working with Giant Kimala II, Dan Kroffat and Sabu on the tour. When talk of ECW came up, RVD stated that he feels there is a 50/50 chance that the March ECW PPV will take place. He hopes that if the show does take place, Paul Heyman calls him to work it. Molson Export will be sponsoring WWF TV programs RAW, Live Wire and SmackDown! and they will also be doing a special promotion in which cases of Molson Export will come with one of four special WWF T- shirts. On hand at the conference were Vice President of Molson Canada, Rob Guenette and the president of WWF Canada, Carl DeMarco, along with WWF superstar Lita, who did interviews and posed for pictures. They also aired a new Molson Export ad that highlighted the T-shirt promotion as well as video clips of WWF stars Albert and The Big Bossman extolling the virtues of Molson Export beer. ______________________________________________________________________ [Column] Vile Thoughts - by The Vile I didn't think I was going to have to write about this again so quickly, but I am pissed off beyond words. First off, I will admit it; I am an XFL mark. I enjoy the concept of the league, and the games have been pretty decent with a few exceptions. I have grown accustomed to the fact that there are plenty of sports snobs out there that will never give the XFL a fair shake. I say that's okay, because attendance is better than projected, and so are the ratings; even after last week's drop. However, after reading an article reprinted in Tuesday's edition of this fine newsletter, I blew a headpipe. It seems that because the LA Xtreme had the audacity to make a spirited comeback, and force their game into overtime, Lorne Michaels was (sniff) upset that his stupid, useless, long exhausted show (sob) didn't start on time. Well, boo freaking hoo! If anything, this game may have strengthened NBC's ratings for the whole night in the future. Yeah, there were some people probably upset that they had to wait for SNL for 45 minutes. However, they did see the end of a great ballgame, and maybe they will come back to not only watch SNL, but the XFL as well. It's also not the fault of the XFL that a player suffered a serious compound fracture of his foot during the game. How dare he suffer an injury that could hold up Jennifer Lopez being on SNL. That player has a total lack of consideration for what's important. Considering how much money NBC has tied up in other shows (Friends, ER, Frasier), not to mention the 50 MILLION DOLLAR investment in the XFL, who the hell does Lorne Michaels think he is dictating policy to NBC? His show is a piss in the bucket compared to the aforementioned programs. What was he so upset about anyway; was Lopez going to pull a Glock on him? Look, you senile old fool: your show has been garbage for at least five years. The only reason you're still on the air at all is that it's a dead time slot anyway, so no one gives a frog's fat ass what's on TV at 11:30 on Saturday night. Maybe you think I'm being hard on them; that's fine. I can only tell you what I know. and I know that I have watched the show once in the last six years, and that's when The Rock hosted. Otherwise, I have no use for SNL. Let's face it, even president spoofs get old after a while. If I want president jokes, I can get them on the internet 24/7, so what use do I have for SNL? And as for this being a big show because of Jennifer Lopez, I can honestly say that she couldn't give me anything better that the XFL cheerleaders had already. I have to say I'm disappointed in Dick Ebersol. This spineless puss made a committment to Vince McMahon and the XFL. Now he's siding with Michaels, saying he'll do everything he can to get the games over by 11:00 PM. And just how do you propose to do that Dickie? By outlawing overtime? If you were smart, you would have told that old goat to sit down and shut his pie-hole. Just remember, you don't want Vince as an enemy. I'm sure he can find another network out there to carry the mammoth one XFL game a week that you provide. Yeah, it's mostly the NBC name, but other leagues have been around for a long time without a broadcast network. Just remember that when Lorne Michaels is p***y- whipping you the next time. This is the last time I want to have to talk about this for a while. With SuperBrawl coming up on Sunday, and No Way Out the following weekend, the XFL should be seen and enjoyed, but not heard. at least not in this column. As for SuperBrawl, it might actually turn out okay. Sales at least are encouraging to this point, and a few of the matches seem to have some care factor to them. I have to admit, the Thrillers have won me over, and I think they will put on a great tag team title match. As for the main event, Does Nash really stand a chance? The company wants to build around Steiner; not a man who is ready to go back to the WWF when his contract runs out in the near future. The big question will be: How many of the faces squashed by Steiner will return Sunday night? I have a feeling we'll see Sting and maybe Booker T. I would say that Goldberg's recent surgery makes him a definite no-show. I think it's pretty obvious that The Cat will win the commissionership back as well. Why would WCW want to downgrade Ric Flair's number one foil? It's a great angle, and they'll keep the tensions high between Flair and The Cat. And in a little over a month, WCW will go through another rumored "shutdown" to reorganize the company. Hopefully, things will go better this time around. All we want is some competition again. That's all I have for now. I could keep rambling, but you people probably think I'm insane enough as it is. ______________________________________________________________________ [Parting Chair Shot] Remember, tell your friends about nWN - naidO's Wrestling News today! **Missed any TV Shows?
