Tell your friends about the BEST newsletter around to subscribe today! - Hello all. Well, I saw Nitro last night and.............that's how I felt after watching it. - naidO nWN Founder - http://www.geocities.com/naidosnews ______________________________________________________________________ [TOP NEWS STORY] Today News Services is circulating a story today about Mick Foley's comments he made at a public appearance on Sunday on the nature of sex and violence in wrestling. He said "some segments are tasteless and some can be violent, but parents have to watch with their young kids. If a kid is 14, he's probably heard worse things on the school bus, but the TV can't be baby sitter for the young kids". Foley also stated that his new book would contain a chapter that would answer WWF critics US Senator Sam Brownback, a Republican and Senator Joseph Lieberman, a Democrat. Ross, who many felt was far superior to Matt Vasgersian last week, now has the opportunity to become the signature voice of the XFL. Vasgersian will now team with Jerry Lawler. Martke said that NBC officials declined to comment. Flair has already arranged for interview time on Wednesday Thunder. Rick Steiner will get a chance to explain his actions -- plus Flair will announce the show's main events and more matches for SuperBrawl Revenge. Neither Kevin Nash nor The Cat has asked for show time, but WCW.com sources say these two men, along with DDP and Brian Adams, plan to make a statement -- in or out of the ring. Here are the matches Flair and The Cat have planned for the program: Kaz Hayashi vs. Shane Helms WCW promoters have come up with yet another dizzying and exciting cruiserweight concept: A Six-Man Four Corners Match for the number one contender position after SuperBrawl Revenge. The match works under elimination rules, meaning all but one of the players must submit or be pinned during the match. Because Shannon Moore won last week's Four Corners Match, the 3 Count member is already qualified. At Wednesday Thunder two of the division's most experienced competitors, Hayashi and Helms, will battle to earn admission and join Moore. Norman Smiley vs. Sean O'Haire While this contest might seem to be a mismatch, Norman Smiley assured WCW.com Glacier will be present in his corner. The Wall vs. Rey Mysterio Jr. After Mysterio's surprise victory over Chavo on Nitro, the cruiserweight champion used his stroke with the CEO to get this match signed for Wednesday Thunder. Chavo also requested he be allowed to remain ringside to support The Wall. Konnan vs. Above Average Mike Sanders Can you say tough love? In an effort to further educate Sanders -- and, perhaps, punish the young man for leaving him at Nitro -- Flair signed Mike in a singles match against the filthiest of all the Animals, Konnan. PLUS: Scott Steiner, Jeff Jarrett, Totally Buff, Road Warrior Animal, The Harris Brothers and more of your favorite WCW superstars... **On Tuesday in an Atlanta, Ga. courthouse, WCW asked a judge to dismiss the racial discrimination lawsuits filed by 14 former employees of the company. The dismissal hearing concluded Tuesday afternoon, and the judge will have ten days to rule on the matter. Among the notable names who appeared in the Atlanta courthouse were Sonny Onoo, Hardbody Harrison, and Bobby Walker. The entire group of performers and their lawyer posed for press photographs outside the courthouse shortly after the hearing. One person involved in the case reports that the lawyer for the former employees described WCW's Power Plant as "a plantation." The lawyer also read quotes from a Vince Russo interview, comments he categorized as derogatory toward Asian wrestlers. The lawyer is also said to have presented the court with a mock Chinese menu that was distributed among employees at the WCW offices (as detailed in past issues of the Torch Newsletter). Perhaps most damaging to WCW was a deposition from a former member of the WCW booking comittee, Randy "Pee Wee" Anderson. Anderson is said to have expressed his opinion that black wrestlers training at the Power Plant weren't given the same opportunities as white wrestlers. Writers from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution were present at the hearing, and are expected to cover it in today's paper. Lyons will be unable to attend this weekend's Cauliflower Alley Club reunion in Las Vegas, where he was scheduled to be honoured. Still, the former wrestler and announcer manages to keep pretty busy, and gets to the gym at least three times a week. "[I do] a lot of the things [the doctors] tell me not to do!" **A website called anti-xfl.com has been launched. It's a very rough looking site that keeps track of XFL happenings and points out what they find wrong with the league and the moves it makes.
