These rumors were mostly fueled by an advertisement on last night's Smackdown promoting next week's show as "Extreme Smackdown." PWTorch.com got hold of Vince McMahon earlier to issue a brief statement regarding the rumors. McMahon said that while the WWF would welcome the idea of Heyman working for them, it is his understanding that Heyman is still committed to trying to make ECW work. All rumors should not be put to rest however, McMahon never denied the possibility of Heyman ever becoming a vital part of the WWF. (the torch) ______________________________________________________________________ [News from The WWF] **A source close to Shawn Michaels has told SLAM! Wrestling that he is attempting to return for one more match in the WWF possibly at WrestleMania. After that, Michaels is gunning for a job as a manager with his own stable in the WWF. **Dave Scherer reports Justin Credible has signed a three-year, six figure deal with the World Wrestling Federation. The deal was signed on Wednesday, and Credible left ECW with Paul Heyman's blessing. He will use the same "Justin Credible" character he used in ECW in the WWF. **Dave Meltzer reports upon his WWF debut, Justin Credible may be placed in a tag team with a returning X-Pac. Credible and Sean Waltman are good friends behind the scenes and the WWF may want to capitalize on that fact with a solid tag-team. **UPN's WWF Smackdown!, broadcast from 8-`10pm on 1/26, scored a solid 4.9 rating with a 7.5 share. **From WWF.com: The World Wrestling Federation is pleased to announce that Bobby Eaton has signed with the company. Eaton, a multi-time champion as part of the legendary tag team the Midnight Express, will be working with the Federation's developmental talent in Memphis. WWF.com hopes to have an interview with Eaton in the near future. **WWF.com is reporting that Kurt Angle will join the list of WWF wrestlers who have become authors. Angle will write an autobiography which will include his journey from winning a Gold Medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics to his rise to fame in the WWF. No word on whether or not the book will be called "It's True, It's True". **Here are the latest news and notes from the latest ROSS REPORT: - The World Wrestling Federation and Brian James, aka Road Dogg, agreed to part ways today. Brian had been on an indefinite suspension since Dec. 19. The Road Dogg is a tremendous talent and we sincerely wish him the best of luck in the future. - Additional roster changes are expected in the next few weeks with some leaving the company while others will be joining the Federation. - TV Guide Canada is looking to do another set of Federation covers prior to WrestleMania. - WrestleMania is NOT sold out and several hundred tickets were released this week in Houston, available at all Texas Ticketmaster outlets. This is always a special event and you owe it to yourself to see it live if you can. - I feel so badly for the family of poor little Tiffany Eunick, who was murdered by a 13-year-old young man, Lionel Tate. The defense attorney attempting to use "pro wrestling" as an excuse for this foul act is sad and unfortunate. Perhaps young Mr. Tate's mama should take a longer look in the mirror. - Pre-production for The Rock's major motion picture, "The Scorpion King," is reportedly going well. The movie will wrap sometime in May. - Test will shoot an episode of TNN's "18 Wheels of Justice" the week of Feb. 5 in San Diego. - William Regal is suffering from neck problems and needs to avoid any significant physicality for a few weeks. Mr. Regal will certainly still make his presence felt at all Federation events and expectations are high for this young Brit. - Chris Jericho's back is sore after the hellacious Ladder Match he had with Chris Benoit at the Rumble, but he is not expected to miss any action. - D-Von Dudley may need to have his shoulder scoped. - X-Pac has been cleared to return to work, and will Feb. 2 in Raleigh, N.C. at a house show (non-televised live event). No return date for X-Pac's return to TV, however, has been established. - Ron Simmons, aka Faarooq, is having knee problems. He, too, may need to scope his ailing knee. The other knee was recently cleaned out via surgery. - Eddie Guerrero is available to return and work TV as needed and will probably return to house shows in mid-February, if not before. - Gangrel has been out with a neck injury and should be given a clean bill of health very soon. - The Big Show weighed 414 pounds today and has 14 to go to reach phase one of his goal. Phase two is to weigh 375 pounds, max! We need this potentially awesome star to continue to be very serious about his job, his weight and intensity level. - Mark Henry tipped the scales at 331 today, which is down about 80 pounds! Mark has done a wonderful job at losing the pounds and can now focus on becoming more explosive and athletic in his matches. No one should give up on this man because we haven't. - Lots of interesting non-wrestling projects coming in for Stone Cold Steve Austin. Stone Cold is focusing strictly on Federation business at this time but will, no doubt, be involved in his share of high- profile movie-TV-endorsement opportunities in the future. - Chyna's book promotional tour is far-reaching and very impressive. Howard Stern, "Good Morning America," MTV Radio, "The Edge with Paula Zahn" on Fox News, "Extra," Fox News' "Judith Regan Tonite," People Magazine, USA Weekend, "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and tons of signings highlight this promotional campaign. - The Federation has had no conversations with Curt Hennig about returning here and he was never considered for the Royal Rumble. - Good to see Haku back. Solid hand, experienced, reliable and still tough as hell. - I like Test with the European Title. I hope he has more than a cup of coffee with it and seizes this opportunity to run with the ball! Both are slated to return very soon after recovering from injuries. **WCW wrestlers Scott Steiner, Booker T and Buff Bagwell will appear in an episode of the WB fantasy adventure show "Charmed" at 9pm EST on 2/1. The episode will be entitled "Wrestling With Demons." The main characters of the show, the Halliwell sisters, who are all witches, use their powers to foil a demonic scheme where victims are forced to wrestle for their souls. **Goldberg could be returning to full-time duty in WCW on the Feb. 26th Nitro. "Sadly, an innocent little girl has died. Lionel Tate by his own actions, the actions and decisions of his mother and defense attorney, have changed his life forever." "The WWF has stated consistently that the suggestion that wrestling had anything to do with Lionel Tate's murderous acts was a contrived hoax," said Jerry McDevitt, a partner in Kirkpatrick and Lockhart, and the WWF's litigation counsel. "The jury easily and quickly repudiated the defense counsel's claim that pro wrestling was somehow to blame for this intentional homicide, and individual jurors have reiterated this in public comments. (wwf.com) ______________________________________________________________________ [Column] Screwjob of the Week Considering the Royal Rumble just happened, this was a pretty quiet week as far as screw jobs were concerned. RAW was pretty much the same thing, Triple h and Austin trying to get at each other with Kurt Angle somehow mixed in. WCW had the end of the MIA and Alex Wright got screwed out of being the #1 contender (so to speak) Not that that is a big screw job or anything, so I was left wondering what to write about this week, can I give the award to Triple H again? Or Austin again, or Ric Flair again? Finally it hit me. I finally found a way to change things up, so here goes... The winner is...??? Yes you read that right! No one knows who it is, because she had a mask on! Yes that's right I'm talking about Raven's get away driver. We now know that it is a she, but that's all we know. She cost Al Snow the hard-core tile about 10 seconds after he won it, so I think it's safe to say she is deserving of the award. Now we are just left to wonder who it is, rumors seem to say Tori, but she seemed to skinny to be Tori so here in this article I'm gonna say it's the Kat! I am probably wrong but that is ok. Maybe next week we will all know who it is...
