He suffered a sprained neck and a broken knuckle in the same hand that his wrist injury was healing in when the hand shattered his windshield. **Triple H will battle Kurt Angle in the main event at MCW's "Showdown at the Nutthouse" event on February 21st in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Also booked for the show are Jerry Lawler, The Kat, William Regal and K-Kwik. More WWF superstars may be added to the card in the near future. Not only is that a bad break for Sid, but also it is for WCW. The company likely had Sid written into last night's Nitro and had to rewrite part of the program. No word on if Sid can appear to do promos. **The original planned finish of the Jung Dragons vs. Knoble and Karagias match at Sin was for Yang to actually pin Jaime Knoble with a twisting moonsault, but when he hit it, he overjumped Knoble and missed him completely. Yang improvised and hit an inside cradle for the pin. It actually worked out well because the announcers sold it as "after all of those high spots, it only took an inside cradle for the win." **After what went down on Nitro when General Rection said "I am sick of being General Rection and sick of being Hugh Morrus", expect Bill DeMott to get a makeover of sorts with probably a baddass attitude. (Cred: Meltzer, Ultimo) _______________ [News from ECW] **Despite rumors claiming otherwise, Paul Heyman will not be holding a press conference or making a major announcement today. Over the weekend, an ECW employee mentioned to someone that Heyman may have big news on Tuesday, which caused rumors to be spread and people to assume that an announcement really would be coming this week. (Cred: Ultimo) __________________ [In other news...] **XPW received a notice from the America One Network that effective on 1/28, the show is being canceled **Not sure if Martin Luther King's Birthday will hold up the ratings today or not. Usually with a Monday holiday, the ratings are held up a day, but we do already have the overnights from the top-40 metered markets, which don't include cable ratings. This should be, based on the competition, the strongest audience for wrestling since probably July. It probably won't be, being that last week was the weakest in years and you just don't go from weakest to strongest in one week. (Cred: The Law, WrestlingObserver) ______________________________________________________________________ [Article] The Rock makes "most bankable" list LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Morning talker Regis Philbin has dethroned Oprah Winfrey as the "most bankable" star in syndicated television, according to an article in the January 15 issue of Electronic Media, the TV industry newspaper. Philbin topped the list because of his powerful personal pull; ratings for his "Live with Regis" show have shot up 15 percent since the departure of co-host Kathie Lee Gifford. Missing from this year's top 10 list were Rosie O'Donnell and Jerry Springer, both victims of fallen ratings. "Rosie has just gotten too political ... instead of playing to the audience," one executive said. Commented another, "Jerry is fading fast." Oprah Winfrey, who headed last year's list, finished a close second to Philbin. The newspaper said, "Rumors of her demise are greatly exaggerated," noting that she has extended her talk show contract through the 2004 season. Five industry executives acted as judges for Electronic Media's Top 10 Most Bankable list. In addition to Philbin and Winfrey, they named former "Hercules" star Kevin Sorbo ("Gene Rodenberry's Andromeda"), third; Judge Judy Sheindlin, fourth; and rerun king Jerry Seinfeld, fifth. Completing the list were Pamela Anderson (6th), Pat Sajak (7th), Ray Romano (8th), wrestling's "The Rock" (9th) and perennial favorite Bart Simpson (10th). Electronic Media is published weekly in Los Angeles by Crain Communications, a leading publisher of business newspapers. Electronic Media's "Most Bankable" Stars Ranking / Star / Show / Distributor 1. Regis Philbin ("Live with Regis," Buena Vista) 2. Oprah Winfrey ("The Oprah Winfrey Show," KingWorld) 3. Kevin Sorbo ("Gene Rodenberry's Andromeda," Tribune) 4. Judge Judy Sheindlin ("Judge Judy," Paramount) 5. Jerry Seinfeld ("Seinfeld," Columbia Tri-Star) 6. Pamela Anderson ("VIP," CTTD) 7. Pat Sajak ("Wheel of Fortune," KingWorld) 8. Ray Romano ("Everybody Loves Raymond," KingWorld) 9. The Rock ("WWF Jakked," "WWF Metal," WWF) 10. Bart Simpson ("The Simpsons," Twentieth Television) ______________________________________________________________________ [Parting Chair Shot] Remember, tell your friends about nWN - naidO's Wrestling News today! **Missed any TV Shows?
