Good Lord, teh best part is, I'M NOT LYING! Seriously, WCW Sin was probably the best WCW PPV since Mayhem 99 and the best wrestling ppv in quite some time. Top to bottom everyone worked hard, the whole show had a great flow and everything but the world title finish was amazing. Due to the circumstances, I look back and forgive them. **Until tomorrow, enjoy this latest edition of nWN! - naidO nWN Founder - http://www.geocities.com/naidosnews ______________________________________________________________________ [TOP NEWS STORY] The finish of the main event at WCW Sin from the Canseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis was messed up and it is believed that Sid Vicious suffered a compound fracture of either his ankle (which is what is being reported on WCW Live) or possibly his shinbone according to WCW officials. Apparently the mystery man, who turned out to be Road Warrior Animal (brother of Johnny Ace), was supposed to come in when Vicious had Steiner pinned after a choke slam and screw Vicious out of the title. As it turned out, he weakly kicked Sid once and told Steiner to pin him. Vicious looked horrible and the main event was by far, the worst match of what was otherwise a pretty good show. Which one would you pick and why? Triple-H's answer: "Jim Hellwig, because I could use his fried bale of hay hair to start a signal fire and get rescued. I could also use his buck teeth to chop firewood." That has got to be one of the best answers to a question that I've ever seen. **WWFE sent out a press release this afternoon announcing the UPN broadcast team for the inaugural season. Craig Minervini (a/k/a former WWF announcer from the '80s Craig DeGeorge) and Bob Golic will handle UPN Sunday afternoon broadcasts, with Lee Reherman and Kip Lewis handling sideline duties. Minervini is currently sports anchor at WTVJ, the South Florida NBC affiliate. He has worked on NBC's broadcasts of Notre Dame football and for ESPN and Prime Network. His otherwise exhaustive press release bio does not include his WWF work. Golic has worked at Notre Dame and in the NFL for NBC. He is currently with Fox Sports Net. Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler (both big football fans with extensive announcing background obviously) tried out and expressed interest a position, but key people in the XFL feared it would make their uphill climb for credibility tougher if the same announcers pretending that choreographed matches were real were also calling real football games that many people believe are going to be choreographed. Back then, Bischoff was admittedly a part-time player, simultaneously managing his production company, and had to compromise his vision to facilitate another school of wrestling philosophy. To Bischoff's credit, within a month he realized WCW needed a single leader, not an amalgam of mixed gimmicks to rise back to the top." **Time Warner will no longer have to deal with the day-to-day operations or bankroll the wrestling outfit, which has seen ratings and buy-rates for its respective cable and pay-per-view shows free- fall in recent years. First off, the boys gathering in the ring is something we tend to do as a celebration when we go to a new town. Yes it got a little emotional, but never at any point, did anyone wish me farewell. In fact, there are only a couple of guys who believe we're done. We have been expecting this time off and it's going down as Paul claimed it would last month. I know it looks bleak but I (and a lot of the boys) still have confidence in ECW and Paul E. Call me stupid loyal, but I believe it. It wasn't meant to be a last goodbye, it just got out of hand. I feel like a heel for taking part in it. I truly thought it was a celebration not a funeral and I'd like people to know that I'm sticking by Paul (as well as the rest of the boys) until the end. I'd just like to see something positive coming out about ECW instead of all this gloomy s***. We're not dead yet. Thanks."
