A talent raid by WCW is also another stumbling block for ECW. Eric Bischoff is now free to sign Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn amongst others to help freshen up WCW TV. Dave Meltzer reports Jerry Lynn, Steve Corino, Sal E. Graziano, Mikey Whipwreck, Dawn Marie, Simon Diamond, Swinger, and Jim Mitchell will not be working the weekend shows, which are the last scheduled before the Living Dangerously pay-per-view in March. There will be television cameras at tonight's event but the footage will likely never see air. When Kilborn announced his guests (Tazz and Craig Ferguson, who plays Mr. Wick on The Drew Carey Show), Tazz got the bigger pop. Ferguson was on first, then Tazz came out. He got a great reaction from the crowd. It started out with Kilborn asking Tazz about wrestlers being "superstars". Tazz dogged Kilborn and gave him static for calling him a wrestler on the previous night's show. Kilborn asked what "Tazz" meant. He said nothing. He said he is a thug and likes playing one. Kilborn asked what his big move was and Tazz said it was the Tazzmission. Kilborn said he should start spitting on his opponents. He then asked Tazz about Heat, and Tazz put it over. Kilborn then asked what kind of man has a doll. Tazz told him it was not a doll. It's an action figure. Kilborn asked if Tazz had a daughter. He said he had a son. He said that his son plays with the action figure and in his house, they have a rule that Tazz beats all the other dolls, like Barney. Kilborn went for coffee and Tazz asked where his was. He took Kilborn's, drank it, and spit it out. Kilborn asked him about the opera, and Tazz brought it back to plugging Sunday Night Heat. Tazz came off really well. The idea behind it is to jack up the price from $30 to $50 and help get WCW's revenues back on track. An article about the WCW sale appeared on the Variety website today. Most of the piece is stuff we already know, but it did contain this interesting bit: "To help get WCW's ratings and revenues back on track, Fusient plans to sit down with the dominant World Wrestling Federation, owned by Vince McMahon, to create pay-per-view events that would pit the best of the WCW wrestlers like Goldberg and Sting against the WWF's Mick Foley and the Rock. The enmity between McMahon and Ted Turner prevented any such coming together of the two orgs in the past, but Fusient is starting off with a clean slate. "Events like these could allow the WCW and WWF to raise the retail rate in pay-per-view to the level of a world-championship fight and pull in record buy rates," said Rohan. A wrestling extravaganza now goes out at about $29.95 a household, whereas for a major prizefight, rates as high as $49.95 may be set." To see the entire article, http://www.variety.com/body.asp? He was working with former WCW wrestler Lodi and his back went out on him and the crowd thought it was a work. Once it was obvious that Anderson was hurt, Lodi quickly pinned him to end the match. He was laid out in the ring for nearly ten minutes, suffering from numbness in his legs. He was able to walk out of the arena, but was not feeling up to par. **Steve Corino, Jerry Lynn, Sal E. Graziano, Mikey Whipwreck, Dawn Marie, Simon Diamond, Swinger, Jim Mitchell and Balls Mahoney won't be appearing at the ECW show in Pine Bluff, AR this weekend. The remainder of the crew will be in attendance. There was some talk of other wrestlers not showing up, but several of them feel that ECW made them stars and that they should help out anyway they can. The event will be taped for TV since ECW has not produced a new television show in two weeks. **Jim Quigley has posted his third set of "Perv Pics" from Guilty As Charged. Now that I'm 3 days from going back to school, I can't wait because I think I got to see more WWF/WCW at school then i did here at home, anyway I'm just covering up for the fact that I really don't have a lot to say because of course the big news is WCW was sold. I could've made that my screw job but I watched Nitro and I wonder if anything can get any worse? I will be a lot happier when this whole mystery opponent deal is ended, I keep hoping that Jeff Jarrett regains the title but I doubt that will happen =( You can probably guess what this weeks screw job is unless of course you missed RAW this week, so with out further stalling on my part... The winner is....Triple H! How can I not give it to Hunter after his return on RAW Monday night and his beating down of Steve Austin with a pipe. There was no way anything else could compare to that, so there you go, this week's screw job!
