Two different sources at the network have said the show has been canceled effective immediately over the two sides failing to come up with a new deal. Yesterday, Paul Heyman said that the reason some TV Guides weren't listing ECW in its regular 1 a.m. time slot this coming Saturday on MSG is because the existing deal had expired, and with money tight and the show being paid programming, ECW hadn't committed to renewing the deal until two weeks ago, thus TV Guides that were printed in advance would not have had ECW listed in the slot (there are TV Guides, including Newsday, that still had ECW listed in the slot). The time slot is significant because Saturday would be the final television show leading to the PPV on 1/7, which not only is being held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, but New York is probably the company's strongest PPV market as well. "They are not (on this weekend) unless they are working on getting on without my knowledge," said Scott Finlay of MSG Network programming. "As of right now, they're not scheduled. They haven't renewed their deal. The ball is in their court." Eric Bischoff's friends continue to be confident he will be part of the new ownership group in some form. Some of his friends are saying the deal will be announced Jan. 15 on Nitro. (Cred: ) ______________________________________________________________________ [Article] HBK comments on return to wrestling Shawn Michaels addressed the recent talk of him coming back to wrestle for the WWF, which was mentioned by Jim Ross in the Ross Report, in his latest column. He wrote, "I did meet with J.R. and things went very well I think. All I can say about that is we'll see. I do need to get back into shape though before I do anything." Michaels said that he has taken off the entire holiday season (from Thanksgiving on), saying that he hasn't worked out at all since then. He said that he basically gorged himself over the holiday and wrote, "Needless to say I am a bit chunky as I write this." He wrote that he has returned to the gym to work out however. He feels he can get back into shape quickly. He mentioned that he realized that some people have said he would be back, but he implied that it is not at all a sure thing. He mentioned that being away for "three years is a long time kids." He said, concerning people saying he would come back, "And these 'friends' of mine well... I think they want to be top guys, whoever they are. I've done it and have absolutely no desire to do it again. I for one don't want that kind of demand on my time. In the immortal words of Al Snow...Pin me, pay me. I got news for you, in the house I live in I will always be the Main F'ing Event."
