All though there are no details on what they asked Vicious to do, the plans for the next WCW PPV, Sin, was supposed to center around Sid Vicious vs Jeff Jarrett vs Rick Steiner vs Scott Steiner, but now it will just be a three way with Sid left out. However, he will not be presented the same way as how he used to look like and act. **Totally Buff vs. Goldberg and "Sarge" Dwayne Bruce has been added to the Sin card, with a stipulation that if Bruce gets pinned, Goldberg will have to retire. **Another match has been added to the Sin card, and that is a tag match with The Filthy Animals vs. Team Canada. **WCW has published a shoot interview with Elix Skipper, and you can view it by clicking http://www.wcw.com/2000/12/19/news/shoot/01.html **With the recent firing of Larry Zbyszko and Bobby Heenan, several of the remaining WCW announcers are worried that they may lose their jobs too. Their insecurities have caused Stevie Ray to receive a lot of criticism lately. It is common knowledge that many of the current announcers will be replaced if WCW is sold. **Tony Schiavone is scheduled to guest tonight in the WCW Live! Thunder pre-show that airs at 8pm Eastern. Of course, that puts it up against Smackdown. I don't see it hurting the WWF's rating much. Their audience is pretty loyal. (Cred: Dave Scherer) ______________________________________________________________________ [Column] ROUNDING THE SQUARED CIRCLE "LINDA HAS A BREAKDOWN; FOLEY IS BROKEN DOWN" OR "WHEN YOU PLAY WITH AN A*SHOLE, YOU GET BURNED" Let's review Class: Emperor Vince kicks Empress Linda to the curb. Emperor Vince kicks Princess Stephanie to the adjoining seat. Princess Stephanie again tries to persuade Daddy to come home to Empress Linda and the family. Emperor Vince rips her to shreds. Our American Olympic Zero tells Emperor Vince he agrees with him, and that its all Commissar Foley's fault. Commissar Foley tells Our American Olympic Zero he is tired of his whining and that he has to defend the WWF Championship against Emperor Vince. Yada, Yada, Yada. The first 22 minutes of RAW are a talkfest. What's wrong with this picture? Answer: Not a F'N thing .... IF you watched the entire show. As RAW progressed, Emperor Vince decided that Foley had done him a favor by giving him a chance to win the Title. This did not sit well with Our Zero. He tried to talk Foley into canceling the match. That was about as successful as whizzing into a hurricane. Next Our Zero enlisted those Most Awesomeness Tag Team Champions, Edge and Christian, to try to convince Foley that this was not a good thing to do. What was their reward for their efforts? Foley put them in a Title Match against The Rock and The Undertaker; the equivalent of a Death Sentence in Texas. It was; they lost the Titles. They weren't too pleased with Our Zero over this. Emperor Vince grew more confident as time passed. Match time arrived with Our Zero forced to defend against a confident Vince. Our Zero nailed him and sent him to the floor, right in front of Foley who had joined JR and The King at the announcers table. Vince nailed Foley. Our Zero joined Vince on the floor and nailed .... Foley! A set up from the get go. From that point on they proceeded to teach The Commissar that it doesn't pay to mess with The Boss. They were joined by Edge and Christian, who delivered one of their patented Twin Chair Shots to Foley's already scrambled cranium. Wait, that's the Princess coming to the ring carrying a legal document, and it wasn't even one written in Florida. With Empress Linda finger painting and twirling her golden locks at Shady Acres Rest Home, it was a transfer of her CEO Power. Miss Sweetness and Light glared at Daddy, turned to the bloodied hulk that used to be The Commissar and said the power was given to Daddy! In a delicious irony, Miss Sweetness and Daddy Dear were in it together. They had conspired to dump Mommy / Linda and give control of the WWF back to Emperor Vince. After twenty-two minutes that were as exciting as watching grass grow, or a Big Bossman Match, we were rewarded. Things are not always as they seem, especially when Emperor Vince is involved. Never has anyone deserved a nickname more than the one his nearest and dearest fans have adoringly given him ... "A*shole." Now our favorite "Slut," or as Y2J prefers to call her "A $2.00 Trash Bag Ho," has (d)evolved to join Daddy. It is said that she is an intricate part of the Writing Team, doing much of the work for the WWF's TV programs. That means she has had her talons deeply rooted in this angle. The Emperor can sleep easy knowing there is someone as devious as he is waiting to take the reins when he is ready to pass them. Maybe even more so. It took him 50 years to become this big a SOB; Stephanie has done it in half that time. If I were Shane, I'd sleep with both eyes open, a .44 magnum under my pillow, and a Division of Green Berets surrounding my home. This little "lady" is all business. It almost seems a shame that she doesn't have a couple of million dollars of her own lying around. She could buy WCW and turn them into a formidable competitor. Speaking of WCW, they just put on Starrcade, their version of Wrestlemania. Word from people in attendance is that the vendors outnumbered the customers, the couple of dozen paying and the freebies. The wheels have come of, and with the TW / AOL Merger date fast approaching, someone needs to step up and do something. If you are wondering why WCW is sinking faster than Fat Tony can down a Meatball Sub, all you need do is look at the "bickering" going on among the talent. Seems Pumped Up Poppa cut a promo on Dirtbag Doophus Page this past Monday on NITRO. Dirtbag took exception and proving he isn't the brightest bulb on the tree, got into it with Poppa. Luckily for Dirtbag, there were enough people around to pull Poppa off him, thereby saving his life. He seems to have forgotten that Poppa is a genuine bad ass. Add to this, Sid wasn't happy and left. Could it be softball season already? Whoever takes over has got to put things in perspective. Unless there is harmony among the boys, WCW will go the way of Dodo bird.
