It is a balmy evening as the superstars of wrestling have assembled to honor each other, and you, the great fans. Was lucky enough to get Mr. McMahon to stop here at the red carpet. I couldn't get too many comments from him though; he was too busy laughing at me because I TOTALLY bought into the Dudley's joining Right to Censor. I had to give credit to him though; it's been awhile since I bought into an angle. Thanks to the Accolytes for chasing off Jesse Jackson and his rent-a- riot. Something about all the votes not being counted...who knows? Everyone has put on their Sunday best for this event, even Mideon. Problem is, the tie is the only thing he's wearing. And on that sour note, let's go inside.... The nominees for Rookie of the Year are: Kurt Angle, Jindrak and O'Hare, and Chuck Palumbo. And the winner is: KURT ANGLE. Angle, decked out in a Perry Ellis tux, Olympic medals, and WWF title belt, drops to his knees, weeping uncontrollably. No one can make out his acceptance speech. The nominees for broadcaster of the year are: Jim Ross, Michael Cole, and Joey Styles. And the winner is: JIM ROSS. JR looks dapper in his tux and 10 gallon hat. He gives a poignant speech thanking the fans, capped off with a hearty "Oh My!! Oh My!!" The nominees for best interview are: The Rock, Edge and Christian, and The Cat. And the winner is: THE ROCK. The Great One goes all out, doing bits from some of his classic interviews to the delight of the crowd. The crowd definitely smelled what he was cookin'. The nominees for best angle of the year are: Who ran down Stone Cold?, Crash Holly's 24/7 title reign, and HHH/Stephanie/Kurt Angle. And the winner is: HHH/STEPHANIE/KURT ANGLE. Steph is all misty-eyed as she thanks the fans. HHH and Angle fight over the spotlight, among other things as Angle had given Steph a five minute congratulatory hug. The nominees for worst angle of the year are: The Right to Censor, The reforming of the NWO, and Mike Awesome: That 70's guy. And the winner is: MIKE AWESOME. Awesome screams with delight and thanks everyone...that is until he finally realizes that they are making fun of him. Awesome then rips off his leisure suit, clotheslines a waiter, and Awesome bombs him through a table. Rikishi had to save the waiter by beating Awesome senseless with a stuffed salmon. The nominees for woman of the year are: Trish Stratus, Lita, and Major Gunns. And the winner is: TRISH STRATUS. Trish, flanked by T&A, is just an unbelieveable sight as she thanks no one but herself. My question is: Did they paint that outfit on her? The nominees for face of the year are: Chris Jericho, The Rock, and Booker T. and the winner is: BOOKER T. Booker is on the verge of tears as he thanks the fans for their support, and reminds us all to "Don't hate the play'a, hate the game." The nominees for heel of the year are: Kurt Angle, Triple H, and Chris Benoit. And the winner is: TRIPLE H. Triple H throws a mean glare at Booker T after that "hate the game" crack. He responds to the crowd by merely saying "I hate you too." The nominees for wrestling story of the year are: The Radicalz leave WCW for the WWF, Vince creates the XFL, and the Hart family setlles their lawsuit with Vince. And the winner is: THE RADICALZ. Benoit and Malenko look very dapper in their tuxes. (They should thank Ric Flair for teaching them how to dress) Someone should have told Eddy Guerrero not to wear that sombrero with his. Perry Saturn looks like he wants to be someplace else as the other three wax poetic about how they changed the balance of power in wrestling. The nominees for useless wrestler of the year are: David Flair, Naked Mideon, and Jim Duggan. And the winner is: NAKED MIDEON. Mideon will receive his award parcel post as none of these losers were allowed access to the building. The nominees for feud of the year are: The Cat/Mike Sanders, The Hardys/Edge&Christian, and HHH/Rock. And the winner is: The HARDYS/EDGE&CHRISTIAN. This speech turns into a brawl as each team believes they were responsible for the award. The nominees for tag team of the year are: The Dudley Boys, The Hardy Boyz, and Edge&Christian. And the winners are: THE DUDLEY BOYS. I never saw sleeveless tuxedos before, but Bubba Ray and D'Von pull it off nicely. You could barely hear their speech as the crowd erupted into a "We want tables" chant. The nominees for wrestler of the year are: Chris Benoit, HHH, and The Rock. And the winner is: Triple H. HHH, receiving his third award of the night thanks only his wife and himself as he reminds us that he is the best wrestler in the world today. And that he is The Game. Steve Austin, dressed as a waiter preoceeds to stun him into the dessert table. The nominees for match of the year are: HHH/Chris Jericho-Last Man Standing, Jeff Jarrett/Booket T World Title Match at Bash at the Beach, and the triple threat tag title match at Wrestlemania. And the winner is: Edge&Christian/Hardys/Dudleys from Wrestlemania. This was a close race as all six men have had many great matches throughout the year. A melee ensues as they cannot agree on who gets possession of the award. I'd love to get some post show reactions, but there are tables, and chairs, and podiums flying all over the place. I..What's that? No Bubba Ray, I didn't say you sold out to the PTC last week, I...Hey!! (Show ends with Dudleys planting "worthless columnist" through table). ______________________________________________________________________ [Parting Chair Shot] Remember, tell your friends about nWN - naidO's Wrestling News today! **Missed any TV Shows?
