(1Wrestling) ______________________________________________________________________ [News from the WWF] **Dave Meltzer has updated the status of several WWF injuries: - Steve Blackman was hospitalized for much of this weekend with a bleeding ulcer. He is hopeful to make a return next week. - Triple H's back condition is improving but he was held of RAW for obvious storyline reasons. - Rikishi was held off RAW for storyline reasons as well. He did have a knee problem but it is better. - Al Snow does indeed have a wrist injury, but it is only sprained and not broken. The injury angle he worked on RAW will explain his absence over the next few weeks. - Eddie Guerrero has a strained hamstring that will keep him out of action for several weeks. - As a side note, Mick Foley will be taking time off after Smackdown tapings in Little Rock to be with his wife, Colette. She is about to give birth to their third child. - Chris Jericho didn't have an injury after the PPV, as stated on RAW last night. The WWF didn't use him because they wanted to sell the severity of the Last Man Standing match. - Chyna also does not have an injury, as she was just used on RAW to 'raise the body count' so Mick Foley would question his job. (Cred: Dave Meltzer) _______________ [News from WCW] **Here is what to expect on a special Tuesday edition of Nitro: - CEO Flair will have extra security for Scott Steiner and Sid Vicious. - Scott Steiner will defend his World title against an opponent to be named. - Sid Vicious will also be in action against an opponent to be named. - The Cat & Miss Jones will take on Lance Storm & Major Gunns. - Jeff Jarrett & The Harris Brothers vs The Filthy Animals in an elimination match. - Shane Douglas vs Corporal Cajun. **WCW wrestler Lance Storm, real name Lance Evers, has been sick all weekend and goes into Nitro tonight ill. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Gov. Jesse Ventura's new broadcast job with the XFL does not pose a conflict of interest, a Minnesota official ruled Monday. "There are no issues concerning the XFL that would affect the governor's independence of judgment in the exercise of his official duties,'' said Julien Carter, the state's commissioner of employee relations. Carter determined Ventura is not a state employee who must abide by a prescribed code of ethics. Carter said he would have found no conflicts even if Ventura were classified an employee. Carter's ruling comes in response to a complaint by environmental activist Leslie Davis, who argued that Ventura was using his position to secure benefits not available to the public. Davis was not immediately available for comment. Several lawmakers made similar accusations after learning Ventura signed a one-year contract to work XFL games on NBC from February to mid-April. "It's hard for the employee to call the boss on the carpet,'' State Sen. John Marty said. Carter cited Ventura's broadcast work before his election in 1998 as qualification for the job. He said he found ``no facts that would indicate that the governor is using his official position'' improperly. Ventura has done radio commentary for the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Minnesota Vikings. Carter added there is no conflict because the state does not regulate or do business with the XFL, a joint venture of NBC and the World Wrestling Federation. Carter disagreed with a November opinion by Minnesota Attorney General Mike Hatch that the governor is a state employee. Carter said the law Hatch used to determine Ventura's classification was ambiguous. A spokeswoman for Hatch said the attorney general stands by his interpretation. Ventura has said that it is up to voters at election time to determine whether his actions are improper. He has not said whether he will seek a second term. (Yahoo! The Six Pack Hell In The Cell Main Event for The WWF Championship was all it was cracked up to be .... almost. With The WWF Champion, Our American Olympic Zero, apparently unscathed from playing Bulls Eye to a hail of Steveweisers on SmackDown, Stone Cold Steve Austin (SCSA), fresh from using Our Zero as a moving target, The People's Champion, coming off verbally tearing his opponents new anal orifices, The Taker, promising to send his opponents to the promised land, The Ass That Blocked Out The Sun, resplendent in his newest "Wide Load" Thong, and HHH, promising to show everyone why he is still The Game, the match turned out to be the new Poster Child for The American Red Cross Blood Bank. All six walked, crawled, or in The Asses case, driven away like a carcass going to market, a bloody mess. The match went out into the junkyard at the head of the ramp, around the ring and of course, atop the Cell. The Taker dispensed of Les Grande Ass by heaving him off The Cell and into the trunk that Emperor Vince brought to ringside to try to bring The Cell down. HHH, SCSA, The Rock and The Zero took turns blasting each other with their Finishers. A great match ... until ... the end. Our Zero won with a meekly extended arm covering The Rock to win and retain the Title. Surely the Booking Team could have come up with a better ending to a great match and a solid card. Other than the ending, this could possibly qualify as a Match Of The Year candidate. Princess Stephanie may have her royal fanny tanned over it. In what was another outstanding match, Y2J beat Kane in a Last man Standing Match by burying him beneath a pile of barrels. After taking an expected ass kicking from Kane, Y2J proved that Beauty always wins out over The Beast. Winning wasn't nearly as important as surviving, and Y2J barely did. This match should elevate both to Main Event status, but unless things have changed, Kane will remain an unappreciated monster. Maybe he can hire one of the 1,000's of lawyers in Florida to represent him in a Discrimination Suit. Heck, people sue for a lot less than that. Surely there's a law against discriminating against a monsters. Not to worry, if the suit is filed in Florida and he loses, The Florida Supreme Court is sure to overturn it. The most awesomeness Tag Team this side of Beautiful Downtown Lower Dudleyville scammed their way to their fourth reign. The one socially redeeming feature about this match is that The Right To Annoy (the crap out of us), the biggest snore jobs in recent memory to hold the Titles, no longer do. It's back to the drawing board, or wherever two losers like Bull Chips Buchanan and The Go(o)dfather go after a match. You think maybe they join Val Venis and play circle jerk with Stevie in their spare time? They even have everyone's favorite school marm to play the tambourine during the game. Speaking of The WWF's answer to Janet Reno, the lovely Ivory retained the Title thru the efforts of sweet, little Molly. Molly did all the work and sent the lovely Trish to lala land. Ivory yanked Molly out and uglied her way into the pin. Think of all the crimes committed in this match: Ms. Face Than Stopped 1,000 Ships keeps the Title; Molly walks away empty handed; and Trish ends up on her back. Hmmm, that's not all bad now that I think about it. Deano Macheno got his revenge for the world's worst date. After Lita (damn, she looked good) sucked him into an ending to the evening he hadn't planned on, he got even. In every other state, except maybe Florida, he would have been arrested for assault as he destroyed Lita when they were the last two in a Six-Person Elimination Match. Matt and Jeff Hardy, Latino Heat and Saturn were gone and that left Deano to do the dastardly deed on Lita. Anyone else notice that the Hardy Boyz look like they were ridden hard and put away wet? The English Gentlejerk, Sir Steven retained the European Title, by defeating Hardass Holly, with an assist by Raven. I can see it now, a new Tag Team: Unloved and Unwashed. The parts are interchangeable. The aforementioned Val Venis, assisted by Ms. Ugly, beat Chyna. If it hadn't been for Mr. Venis, Ms. Ugly would have had her face rearranged (and that wouldn't have been half bad) as Chyna had her all to herself. Emperor Vince spent a few minutes in the ring making friends with the crowd. He reiterated his words from SmackDown and the asked the crowd for their support against Mic Foley for booking The Hell In The Cell. He asked the crowd to stand to show their agreement. One rather large gentleman, on his way to make a deposit in the men's room, quickly returned to his seat. The Emperor told the crowd they were as responsible as Foley. At last count, 1,254 attendees have requested a pay check equal to Foley's. All in all, a pretty good PPV. There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that Good Old Eric was in the crowd taking notes. If and when he buys WCW, he would never do anything that The WWF did. http://members.aol.com/samjerry ______________________________________________________________________ [Parting Chair Shot] Remember, tell your friends about nWN - naidO's Wrestling News today! **Missed any TV Shows?
