It is rumored* the group he is in negotiations with is Eric Bischoff and several investors. The meeting lasted 45 minutes and employees didn't learn anything that they already knew. *Please note the word "rumored." There is no significant evidence to back up Bischoff negotiating to buy WCW. Just because "sources" close to Bischoff say he is attempting to purchase doesn't mean it is 100 percent accurate. (Cred: The Law, Ultimo Wrestling) ______________________________________________________________________ [Column] Screw Job Of The Week Well what a week we've had!? Ok it wasn't the greatest week, but there was still some good TV. Let us start with ECW, since they had a PPV and so I actually got to see some good ole ECW =)... Unfortunately the best screw job really wasn't a screw job since the fans went nuts for the Sandman beating the hell out Steve Corino. On to WCW, and why do I bother, I think at this point I'm gonna stop turning one of the TV's at my work to Thunder, because it's just pointless! If you wanna call Jeff Jarrett hitting some jobber with a guitar a screw job then WCW is for you! So once again we're on to the WWF and once again Smackdown provided some great TV. I bet you think I'm gonna give the award to Vince for humiliating and divorcing his wife on TV, well I was, until I saw the spot of the night and quite possibly the year! For the first time we have co-winners... The winners are...The Dudley Boyz! Them coming out as part of RTC was great and the line of the year...And if tables are wrong...well I don't want to be right!... I was laughing my ass off it was great! They screwed the RTC big time and I'm hoping they win the titles Sunday, well until next week have a good one. Comments? Question? Flames? Ted Cabata Tcabata@r... With the switch to TNN (Let's not forget that they have POP - Whatever the heck that means), RAW's ratings have dropped. It seems that the POPpers weren't quite honest in the number of people who were going t o get POPped. With a smaller viewing audience, naturally the ratings would drop. However, the perception that the ratings had slid looks to have been enough for Emperor Vince to get off The Throne and back into the game. As most of us know The Emperor is the penultimate bad guy. No one in the history of wrestling has been able to piss off the fans better then he does. He returned on RAW and took a Stunner, was Rock Bottomed and went for a Last Ride, all while trying to be a nice guy by preventing three of the WWF's biggest stars from getting hurt in the Six Man Hell In The Cell Match at this Sunday's Armageddon PPV. He then returned on SmackDown and after exchanging "pleasantries" with Mic Foley, sent Empress Linda home in tears by telling her he wanted a divorce. One might wonder why he did this, considering that the WWF has been toning down their product the past couple of months. It could very well signal The Emperor's decision that he has gone far enough trying to appease the seemingly intransigent L. Brent Bozo. If so, I applaud him. Nothing the WWF has done thus far has satisfied Mr. Bozo. However, I am sure there are some who feel the involvement of his family is wrong. Coming back at this time and injecting himself into the Hell In the Cell Match has created additional interest in the match. Based on what I have been seeing in the various Newsletters and in my Mail, this match has generated more interest that any in quite some time. The six biggest stars in the WWF will be in the Cell at the same time with the WWF Title at stake. Based on what I have seen, it would be impossible to pick a favorite, with only The Ass That Devoured Boise lagging behind. My sentimental choice is The Undertaker, who deserves one last run as Champion. My personal thought is that Our American Olympic Zero will find a way to retain the Title. I also think that this match could provide the opening for Wrestlemania's Main Event. One thing that I see the number of people on the card. The WWF utilizes an incentive system to pay people, and one of the incentives is PPV appearances. If you make it onto a PPV card, the cash register rings. The card is stacked top-to-bottom with the elite on the WWF's roster. Kane and Y2J will finally (yea)! settle things in a Last Man Standing Match. I keep warning Y2J that playing with Kane is about as sane as standing on a Railroad Track with the 5:15 bearing down - not smart. This could be the match of the night, with both men moving to the Main Event Level. The Fatal Four Way for the Tag Team Title hopefully will get the Belts away from the Right To Annoy, and around the middles of The Dudley Boyz. Speaking of Bubba Ray and D-Von, they fooled a lot of people with their hinted switch. The Acme Table and Steel Chair Company, Division of The Acme Corporation, would have gone belly up if they had given up the tables. Of course, The Triple Threat Match for the Women's Title wont hurt the buy rate. Could anything involving Trish Stratus do anything else? I wonder with Hugh Hefner will be watching. Most red blooded males are rooting for Trish to take the Playboy plunge. With an apparent strong PPV on tap and with the return of everyone's favorite a*shole, the WWF is looking for an improvement in RAW's ratings. Will it happen? Only time will tell.
