Smith, known to his fans as the British Bulldog, was accused of telling his estranged wife Diana Hart-Smith and her sister that he would kill them. He was also charged with threatening Hart-Smith's boyfriend. Smith said he was just glad to have it over with. "It's just one of those things . . . when the media are in a frenzy again because of who I am," he said. "I'm just glad it's all behind me." The Crown withdrew charges of uttering death threats in exchange for Smith's agreeing to stay away from his former wife and not take any non-prescription drugs. Smith, 38, said he's going through a bitter divorce, but now that the criminal matter has been resolved he hopes to return to the World Wrestling Federation or may open his own wrestling school. He had been suspended without pay. "There's just a lot of jealousy in the family and that's all I can pin it down to right now," he said. The grappler's estranged wife is the sister of Bret (The Hitman) Hart and of Owen Hart, who died in a wrestling accident in Kansas City last year. Smith is a one-time delivery boy from Manchester, England. Here are some of the more interesting points taken from Dave Scherer's recap: -The musical component to Sunday Night Heat has been eliminated. -Viacom was one of the reasons the company did not buy WCW. They did not like the idea of buying into a failing company. -The WWF's lawsuit against the Parents Television Council has not been filed. It will be filed soon. -Ross said that Chris Jericho, Kane, and Chris Benoit should be moved to main event status. He also praised Tazz, Raven, and William Regal for their work. -Ross said Chris Chetti and the Dupps have potential. The company is also interested in Jerry Lynn and Rob Van Dam. They are not interested in Torrie Wilson, Scott Hall, Vampiro, or Juventud Guerrera. -He commented on Scott Steiner as WCW champion and said if WCW could get his personality harnessed, he could be a significant character. -There are no plans to have Mick Foley wrestle again, but maybe in the future. -Ross speculated that Vince McMahon might be part of WWF TV for many weeks to come. -Triple H will work the match at Armageddon. There were rumors going around last week that he may have been pulled from the show the day of. -Ross said the angle with HHH was a little far fetched and we probably shouldn't have seen him back for a few weeks. -He addressed the Hardy Boys and said he would like for them to tone down their style and stop doing so many crazy moves. ==>>To read the whole Conference in it's entirety, click, http://www.naidosworld.com/ross.html **Bradshaw flew to Ames, Iowa for last week's RAW is WAR, but was told he wasn't needed until his partner Faarooq came back, who is still suffering from a knee injury, and is only about 1-2 weeks away from returning. **UPN has agreed to air 6 episodes of the WWF's action/adventure series "Manhunt." **Jerry Lawler has given wrestling fans everywhere one of the best gifts he ever could when he posted pictures of his wife, the Kat, on his website. Kat is in a very festive mood. There is no word on what the meeting is about, but there apparently have been plays by people like Tony Schiavone, Terry Taylor and Craig Leathers to gain control of the company under the auspices of TBS. **Dave Meltzer reports TNT is responsible for WCW's lack of communication regarding Nitro airing on Tuesday next week instead of the regular Monday slot. It was discovered just today that TNT had scheduled the David Copperfield Christmas special to span over two nights instead of one. Apparently, it is TNT's job to provide the plugs and special bumper scripts during the show and they failed to do so. To make matters worse, advertisements for Copperfield aired during Nitro and the replay. **Due to the holidays, Nitro will not be airing on December 25th and January 1st. The WCW TV taping on December 22nd might now be used to film 2 episodes of Thunder, which is not affected by Christmas and New Year's. **Johnny The Bull, who sustained a foot injury in October, has been told by his doctors that he may return to work, but must stick to light duty. WCW hopes to bring him back soon in a non-wrestling role. **Disqo's doctor told him this week that he may begin exercising his back, which was injured last month in Europe. **After spending 2 weeks recovering from a shoulder injury, Mike Awesome has received full medical clearance from his doctor and can return to wrestling. He is now looking forward to competing against Bam Bam Bigelow at Starrcade. **Mark Madden has been suspended with pay, after his comments last week on Nitro about DDP. At this time it is unknown how long Madden has been suspended for. **Terry Funk is rumored to be returning to WCW soon to feud with Crowbar over the Hardcore Title. Thanks to DJ for passing that along! **Rob Van Dam sat down earlier this afternoon with his website's real audio guru Brian Fritz, giving his most candid comments to date on his current status. Thanks to RobVanDam.com staffer Joshua Rey for providing us with the Real RVD excerpts below: - Rob on his ECW status "Questionable. I would consider the status of ECW...questionable. I haven't officially left ECW. Although I can say I'm still with ECW, those are just words because I'm still chasing my last check that I was supposed to get sometime in October. At the same time, I am considering all other options. ECW is still one of my...favorite options, although with its questionable status right now, that's something that I'm going to have to weigh against the other options, and the other options are going to pay." - Rob on talks with the WWF "At this point, it's too early to say what's going to happen. And from my perspective, I can't even make a prediction. I am at the point where I'm talking to everybody and I'm going to continue to do that until I have all of my options out on the table so I can see what I've got. We've spoken with them. We've spoken with the other guys. We've spoken with independent promoters all over, and out of the country promoters. As far as the wrestling business goes, there's always places to work. When you're as good as Rob Van Dam you don't worry about ever having trouble getting work. Getting paid is another thing." - Rob on whether he should leave or stay in ECW "The ideal situation would be for ECW to pick up a major network and a national TV time slot, and for ECW to get some big investors involved. Also it would require, in my opinion, ECW would have to have a complete makeover as far as the promotional department because, if nothing changes there, it's just going to be more of the same. As for now, it'd be great if I was able to stay there. Obviously it would take a lot of adjustments to go work for one of the other big offices. But at the same time, what is ECW if you're not watching me on TV, or if I'm staying there but not even wrestling. By staying in ECW right now that means I am staying home trying to settle money matters and that's not a very cool position to be in at all."
