The jury ruled that Waltman had acted in self-defense when he punched Urbina. Urbina accused Waltman of assault. As the story goes, Waltman and his family were being harrassed at an amusment park by Urbina and the two got into a war of words and aeventually a physical confrontation where Urbina struck Waltman while his back was turned to which Waltman struck back. (1Wrestling) ______________________________________________________________________ [News from the WWF] **Prior to the Rebellion pay-per-view, Val Venis defeated Bradshaw in a non-televised match. **Here's the latest news & notes from this week's "Ross Report": - Ross reiterated what we reported here earlier this week, and said that HHH will not have any matches until Armageddon. He also said that could be a "day of" decision. - Wrestlemania 2001 has sold 52,557 tickets for $3,003,870. That is impressive, but it also shows that not many tickets have sold since the opening weekend when they went on sale. That does stand to reason though. - The 12/10 New York Times bestseller lists for their respective categories will have "Mick Foley's Christmas Chaos!" ranked fourth while "Can You Take the Heat?" cookbook is sixth. - Eric Angle, Kurt's brother, has verbally agreed to a developmental deal and will work for Ohio Valley Wrestling. - Headbanger Thrasher (Glen Ruth), Bobcat and Tracy Smothers have been released. - Rikishi's sore ankle is much better. - Ross said that the WWF is working to re-sign Al Snow and Jacqueline. Their contracts expire in the middle of 2001. - He said that the Rock was asked to be on "Celebrity Jeopardy!" but turned it down due to his schedule being hectic. - He put over how Scott Vick, Steve Bradley and Victoria, are doing in Memphis. - K-Kwick signed a "new, long-term deal with the Federation." - Tori is expected back in a few weeks. - He said that he will be sending more developmental talents to work in Puerto Rico. - Ross said that he was looking forward to meeting the Dynamite Kid in England at yesterday's PPV. - X Pac is still getting treatment on his injured neck and could be back in the WWF in two weeks if all goes well. He said Pac will come back as a babyface. - He wrote, "The Federation has had no contract talks with the disgruntled Buff Bagwell and none are scheduled at this time." That doesn't read well for Buff. He also said that the WWF has no interest in signing Torrie Wilson. - He said that the Survivor Series "looks like it will garner slightly more than 400,000 buys." That would be around a 1.1 buyrate. - He said it makes him sad to see Bret Hart so bitter. (Cred: WWF.com) _______________ [News from WCW] **During the Friday morning [December 1st] edition of the "Bubba the Love Sponge Show" on 98 Rock in Tampa, frequent guest and former World Champion Hulk Hogan was in the studio, along with NWA Florida tag team title co-holder B. Brian Blair. Just before the show wrapped up, a little friendly banter took place between Blair and Bubba as each razzed the other. The result? The Love Sponge and the Hulkster both implied that they could possibly show up at the December 12th Armory event to issue a challenge. (Cred: Dave Meltzer) _______________ [News from ECW] **Jerry Lynn will be appearing in the three-way tonight in New York and Paul Heyman believes that it won't be his final show in ECW. When Lynn talked with Jim Ross in Minneapolis at the Smackdown tapings, Ross told Lynn to send a tape in to give to the writing team to come up with some ideas for them. At this point there don't appear to be any immediate plans to bring him in.
