The undercard was presented in a way that was reminiscent of Russo's style, with many backstage short skits and interviews to set the stage for the matches, which led some observers to believe he was back. In fact, Russo remains sidelined with complications from concussions he suffered while wrestling. A WCW-appointed doctor has evaluated his condition and concluded he should not return to work for at least another month. Any input Russo has is through casual conversations with Ed Ferrara who remains one of the primary bookers filling in during Russo's absense. Sources say that Russo has largely removed himself from much of any input over the direction of WCW and that the vast majority of the WCW booking is being done completely independent of his wishes or advice. (PWTorch.com) ______________________________________________________________________ [News from the WWF] **Former WCW and WWF wrestling star Tom Zenk has made some interesting comments in regards to Jim Ross and his recent discussion of wrestler's salaries in the Ross Report from 11/24. http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Arena/9893/rossrept.htm **Yesterday, there was a 30 minute feature on The Rock on BET's Madd Sports. The Rock discussed his favorite wrestler growing up (Ric Flair), playing for the Miami Hurricanes, his prediction for the Presidential election, and his in-ring style and promos. Of course, the show had to feature a ton of stereotypical fan response on The Rock. At least the interview was decent. The show aired at 11:00 AM Saturday morning (11/25/00). **Trish Stratus has said on her website's comment board that she was asked to pose for Playboy twice before entering the WWF. She says she's not against it, but the reason she hasn't done it yet is a timing thing. She goes on to say if she was asked again, she'd consider what was going on with her personal life and career life before making a decision. **The WWF plans to change the Goodfather back to the Godfather once some of the heat with losing advertisers slows down. **Mick Foley has a fitness gym, and he has posted a website for it. Head over to NavarreFlexAppeal.com for more information. **Current IC Champion Billy Gunn was promised gold when he returned. **Jim Neidhart and the British Bulldog will be released shortly by the WWF. The announcers made light of the promo, calling it a joke and hoping it was just a "rib." Now, for those who don't know about the "Glacier" character, he was introduced several years ago with over six months of dark, mysterious vignettes. His entrance into WCW was really hyped up and fell flat. Despite having a stunning visual surrounding, the character never got over and morphed into a watered down version, then was dropped all together. Dave Meltzer reports WCW wants to bring the character (played by Ray Lloyd) back to fulfill a "goody" heel persona. Much like what Kurt Angle plays in the WWF. **Mike Awesome was still suffering from the shoulder injury he got at last week's Thunder tapings. He did work Mayhem, but only an injury angle as a way to excuse him from action against Bam Bam Bigelow. **Konnan was billed as being part of the show by Gene Okerlund on the preview show, but he never arrived to the building. Someone in his family suffered medical problems and Konnan was late to the show. He did make an attempt to be there. He is scheduled to be part of Nitro and Thunder tapings tonight in Rockford. **In a local Atlanta magazine called "Jezebel" they have the 50 Most Beautiful Atlantans issue out now. Buff and Nitro Girl Chae are in it for anyone interested. The website for the mag for ordering info is www.jezebelmagazine.com. **Fit Finley is now working backstage with WCW. Fit is working as a road agent and is helping with the way matches are worked. (Cred: Derrick, 1Wrestling) _______________ [News from ECW] **In the November 26th edition of the No Holds Barred Column, Don 'Cyrus' Callis discusses the impact that local Winnipeg promoter, Tony Condello, has had on the Manitoba wrestling scene. In addition, Don details Tony's involvement with the newly re-named IWA (Indigenous Wrestling Alliance), in which we could possibly see the return of local Canadian wrestling to the National television scene across Canada. You can read the full unedited column, along with the new additions to Don's website ("Politically Speaking" commentary on the Canadian Federal Election, and the upcoming "Quote & Book of the Week" selections) at: www.doncallis.com. Be sure to check it out at www.doncallis.com. **On ECW's Hardcore TV last night, it was announced that the FBI would be putting their tag team title belts on the line against Danny Doring and Roadkill, at "Massacre on 34th Street." **Rob Van Dam will finally be looking to add the ECW world title to his resume when he returns to the company full time. **Tommy Dreamer has made it clear that he no longer wants to be a part of the ECW title picture. Instead, he would like to work with young and upcoming wrestlers along the likes of C.W. Anderson and other matches that are placed lower on the card. **There are rumors which state that Joey Styles refused to say anything on TV about the footage of Jim Mitchell's freak accident. **Wrestlers within ECW have expressed concern that ECW has yet to promote any show for the month of January, which is quickly approaching. **Regarding the freak accident Jim Mitchell (Sinister Minister) suffered at the November to Remember PPV, doctors notified him that it's a 60/40 chance that he'll regain full use of his left hand, which is supposed to receive plastic surgery once it recovers enough.
