on what can be done, if anything, to improve the situation. - 15 points

A. Identification - students are to identify, describe and provide examples when applicable for 5 of the 8 terms, events,
treaties, etc. provided - 25 points
B. People Identification - students are to identify and describe what 6 of the 8 people on the test did in this chapter
of history - 18 points
C. ESSAY #1 - Describe the War of 1812. What caused the United States to get involved in the war? Why did they
choose the side that they did? Talk about two or three of the battles of the war. What were the
outcomes of each of these battles? What were the terms of the Treaty of Ghent? - 25 points
D. ESSAY #2 - Period 2 Hint - Louisiana Purchase
Period 4 Hint - Marbury v. Madison
Period 8 Hint - attempts at peace and negotiation before the war - 15 points
E. Short Answer - 17 points
Due Monday, January 22nd - Profiles in History - 20 points
Students are to write two profiles similar to those found on the opening pages of chapter 7. One profile is to be about
themselves and the other profile is to be about someone we have studied so far this year

On the back of the profiles, the students are to answer question 22 parts A and B in the Chapter 7 review at the end of
the chapter about Chief Justice John Marshall
