Dual Enrollment: This class is part of the college-in-high school program through the Penn Highlands Community College. For a fee of $75, the students may receive 3 credits for achieving at least a C average in the class.
Objective: To survey the major events and trends that have shaped the development of the United States in the twentieth century with emphasis on contemporary economic, social, and political forces and the role of the U.S. as a world power since 1945. Periods of concentration will include the Great Depression, World War II, the Post-War "Cold War" Era, the Troubled Decade of Social Rebellion and Change, and the Age of Technology: America in a Changing World. Current events and regional history will be integrated into the course.
