December 29, 2004, Wednesday, 6:56 P.M. Well we made it, but our luggage did not. We havent heard from the airlines yet but Im trying not to worry about it. Its Wednesday evening and Im almost starting to feel normal again. I had to visit the doctor today for my chin. I woke up with a gigantic lower lip like Angelina Jolie. I wasnt sure whether I should have the doctor inject something into my upper lip to make it match, or have him cure the lower one. Davids mum (Francoise) took me to her doctor who was so nice. He wasnt even working today but he came into the office to see me and he didnt charge me anything. I should be good as new in about five days. I could not believe the view from their chalet this morning! (See photos). There were horses frolicking, I tried to get them into the shots. Today we had lunch and did some shopping. Afterwards we met some of their friends for a drink. Ive had a sick stomach since we arrived here from the medications and all of the travel headaches, but Im feeling better now. Thank god his family is so cool, theyve made it easier for me to relax.

December 30, 2004, 1:57 A.M., Thursday Ive gotten a few emails with questions so I thought Id write a little update to include all answers. Regarding Christine: she made it to Geneva with us where her cousins were waiting to pick her up. She is also without her baggage. I just emailed her to see if shes gotten hers because if she has, we will really start to worry! She traveled on the same flights with us all along. Jack called the airlines this evening and they told him that they had no record of our baggage claim numbers. I am going to die if they werent on tonights flight to Geneva! Last nights flight was canceled. Were going to have to start raising hell if things arent resolved by tomorrow. I cant believe that three days later they have no idea where our bags are. Thats just unacceptable!! Just to clarify also, we have been laughing about this all along. Were just happy to be on vacation and really dont care what were wearing. We bought new undies & socks today tooand borrowed some clothes from Francoise and Jack. Were having a great time already, even though I look hideous. I almost forgot about Betsy, the family dog. She is great, shes huge and loveable and basically sleeps at all times. I like dogs that sleep a lot. Im on Cleveland time so I cant sleep yet. Im sure Ill start to adjust right before we go home. David is watching an Italian soap opera with his mom. Were drinking orgasmus, an apricot liqueur made here in Sierre, so maybe that will help me get sleepy.
Here is Betsy, doing what she does best! (Like another Betsy dog I know, right Vince?)
December 30, 2004, 10:00 P.M., Thursday Today was fun. We slept in until almost 2:00 P.M., but I felt pretty good when I woke up. Im nearly feeling normal. I woke up and thought I heard the word suitcase from Francoise on the phone in the next room. I was right! Our suitcases arrived in Geneva this morning. We went shopping (David bought me a warm black coat and we bought three Christmas gifts so weve only got 18 more to go!) and then for dinner & drinks. I had the chance to really practice my French at dinner. David wouldnt order for me so I had to ask for everything myself. Its so embarrassing! I have a new appreciation for people who come to America and speak English poorly. Its fun though. We played foosball, which was a first for me. It was pretty obvious toowe were killed by Jack and his daughter Audrey. When we came home our bags were waiting for us. I was surprised that the airlines actually deliver them to your door. Thank God we have clothes for New Years Eve. David bought a new suit today toohes all excited about it. Its pretty cool. I guess thats about it for nowthere are a few new photos too. Ive been taking some good video footage as well. Maybe Ill try to take some mpegs as wellDavid bought me a new memory card for my camera that has better quality mpegs. P.S. I'm a little tipsy.
