| The problem with hope is it comes back day after day Always reminding me that I love you in every way The problem with hope is that it doesn�t take no for an answer So it makes your feelings eat at you from inside like a cancer The problem with hope is it always reminds me that you�re not here It makes me search and search and I find no trace of you anywhere The problem with hope is it knows no fear Which is why to the ground fall my tears The problem with hope is it never fully dies Try as you might but you can never cut the ties The problem with hope is that it makes me still cling to you That now matter how hard I try there�s nothing I can do The problem with hope is that�s it�s never gone even if you�ve given it up You swear that there�s none left but it refills like a bottomless cup The problem with hope is it keeps me going when I want to stop That when I�ve covered the floors with tears it picks them all up with a mop The problem with hope is that is likes to always go against the grain Even if that means that at the end you�ll wind up in horrible pain But the main problem with hope is that it still believes in you and me And then the thought of that changes me from depressed to full of glee |
