     This forum site is dedicated to various topics including old west history, Civil War and old west firearms, and three different forums involving three of the most effective and popular rifles of the turn of the century wars, revolts, and the two world wars, the British Enfield, the Mauser, and the Mosin Nagant of Russia. A little about myself      My name is Cory McAlpin. I have always been extremely interested in history and firearms. My main historical periods of interest have been basically what is featured on this site. I am an avid fan of the old west and the era in which it involves the 1800s. Of course this era also involves the Civil War, our nations greatest triumph and yet tragedy. I am also very fascinated by the world wars and the weapons in which were used.
      So I decided to do the best thing I could think of to benefit my interests and hopefully the interests of many others. That being to create this website,where various different people of different hobbies and interests, can converge and enjoy different discussion boards of different conflicts in history without having to go from site to site.
      Personally I do not own a ton of guns. This is more budget related than interest. I have 3 shotguns, One J.P. Sauer and Sohns Colt peacemaker replica complete with gun belt and holster, a Winchester lever action .22 magnum, and an M44 Mosin Nagant carbine. I would like to own a complete arsenal of Civil war and military surplus arms but only time will tell.
      I am always trying to learn about historical firearms and the various conflicts of the different battles. Only time and perserverence will fulfill those needs for me. So as you post your messages on these boards, remember, some of us are going to learn by reading the posts and various answers. This site should be a learning site and an informative site as well.
