Naetsters Domicile

I am standing in a small village type market street with about a 15% slope. Its not steep enough to be uncomfortable but definitely steep enough to make it inconvenient. Anyway, there is an open field like a pasture on the left side of the street and stores packed right next to each other on the right. The pasture has an old school style barbed wire horse fence with old rough split posts (very rustic looking). Lots of ankle high grass over the fence but no animals that I can see. The stores are all open face shops like you would see in Mexico or down at the Warf in San Francisco. They are all kinda old, with peeling paint and a very used quality.

The street is dirt I think, I didnt pay much attention but it had that feel to it. There was a sidewalk but it was much higher than the street (like about 2 feet). Maybe it floods here? I dont know. The sidewalk is concrete and kinda crumbly, but still in good condition. At some point in time a girl I knew (Nicole Krause) is standing there on the sidewalk with me. We walk into this shop and there are three shady looking dudes in there. There is one Mexican and two white dudes. All are in fairly good shape and look like they could hold their own, if you know what I mean. They are good natured with an undercurrent of violence that you can hear in their jokes about something or other that I cant remember. The store was open at the sidewalk of course but then L-shaped to the right where the counter was. The store was completely empty except for the long counter that L-shaped from the deepest part of the store to along the left wall. The boss white guy was sitting behind the counter in the very back to the right near a doorway that was dark. The Mexican guy was behind the counter at the other end on the left and the other white guy was near the Mexican guy at the end of the counter. I couldnt see what was behind the counter but I think that is where they got all the trinkets from. Anyways, they give us these necklace things that Nicole likes, that have a glowing white ball about the size of a tennis ball on a parachute cord loop that is about 6 feet long. They show us that you have to loop the thing around your body about 3 times to get it to stay hanging in your chest area like a normal necklace. We got some other nick-knacks as well but I dont remember what they were. I think they gave us some pot though. All this happened with only the Mexican guy helping us. The other two guys just sat in their spots in the store joking and talking with us while we were being helped.

Down at the end of the long sloping street with the stores on one side is a tee in the road where it meets up with a larger two lane foot street. At the corner at the end of all the shops on the sloping street there are 3 or 4 wooden outhouse type bathrooms with moons on the doors and everything. The shop street sort of tapers down at the bathrooms to about a 15 foot wide path. There are tons of different mosses growing all over right here. Nicole and I are sitting there in the middle of the path talking about all the different kinds of moss there are. Some are bright green and some other ones are dark orange. They are all different heights to about a foot tall. Anyways, while we are there talking about the mosses a huge biker dressed dude with a reddish blonde crew cut and clean shaven walks into the nearest outhouse. There are no latches on the door so it swings open a little bit, but not bad and no one really cares anyway. But Nicole starts trying to look around the door. She actually reaches over and opens the door to look around it at the guy. I tell that isnt very polite and the guy turns around and says (while politely laughing) what do you think your doing girl?, then shuts the door. She leaves him alone after that and looks all introspective. We sit there for a while longer not talking.

We are walking down the main strip (the larger road that intersected with the shop street) heading toward the marina where the gathering is. There are quite a few people walking in the same direction as we are, and a few walking the other way as well. It is a very bright day and there is no shade, but it isnt hot or anything. Actually it is the perfect temperature. There is a large wall on our right side that is light orange and about 20 feet tall. That huge pasture is still on our left. I realize that there is a horse show or something that we are going to, which explains why Nicole is here. At the end of the large wall we walk onto a narrow white aluminum gangway that stretches out across the blue-green water of whatever bay we are on. It looks a little murky and rough to me buy I hear Nicole whispering something. I look over and she gestures down at her feet. She is walking on the water without splashing or anything. She is going on about how neat it is and I notice that the water is perfectly clear and much calmer than it was.

We start to approach the other end of the gangway where there are lots of pristine white boats at a dock that is at 90 degrees to us. There are a lot of people in that direction although I cant really see many of them because they are behind all the boats. At this point Nicole says I want to see an eight legged arthropod die underwater by drowning. I look at her funny and she looks back at me and says what? I notice the water under the gangway is only about 4 feet deep and that there are perfectly straight concrete like ridges running perpendicular to the gangway that are about 1 foot wide across the entire bottom of the bay (as far as I can see anyway). There are lots of big crawdads crawling in the straight grooves, but they are all going under the gangway to our left in straight lines with the grooves. There are some dark ones and some lighter orange ones. I think whoa, look at all the lobsters, and then I realize they are crawdads. I think to myself crawdads dont live is saltwater, maybe Nicole will get to see what she wanted after all. I stop on the gangway to watch a crawdad crawl under it.

I woke up.
