Illustrations to Mikhail Bulgakov`s Novel The Master and Margarita (1968-1969)
The series of illustrations to Mikhail Bulgakov`s novel The Master and Margarita contains one hundred-and-forty drawings performed ina different technique. It had to become Nadya`s swan song, for she died right after the cycle was completed. Amazingly enough, Nadya Rusheva was the first artist to illustrate Bulgakov`s novel for it was just published in two numbers of the Moskva magazine and immediately became a rarity.

According to the memories of Nadya`s father, artist Nikolai Rushev, the first illustrations were sketched by Nadya while he read her the novel. They were very short of time, since he had to return the book overnight. Later, Nadya was presented with her own copy of ht emagazines where the novel was published.
