Brandt goes on to write that when he decided to have a transplant, he "just wanted to feel well, and was willing to risk life-threatening complications before [the transplant] because medically mandatory." That's how I feel, and I want my doctors to respect that.
Reading Deb Butterfield's book "Showdown with Diabetes" was an epiphany for me. Finally, I heard a vice that echoed my own, and it's allowing me the courage to vice my frustration. We've done so much already to make life better for people with diabetes. But it's time...it's TIME... to do everything possible to find a lifetime cure.
