MEN OF WAR
"Life's no life when honour's left
Man's a man when honour's kept
Nation's honour and Nation's fame
On life they have a prior claim"
The army's principal role is as a deterrent against external aggression. They believe that the result of any war depends on the superior qualities of each soldier and the supreme use of available weapons.
Army depends as much on courage as weaponry. Its inspiration is Islamic faith. More than anything, the army is seen as a manifestation of Mohammad Iqbal's words:
Can One measure the strength of his arms ?
The eyes of a momin can alter the dictates of fate.
