| In my opinion this DVD is really great. Here you are getting things offered you have never seen before. From the interviews at the beginning you can really learn something about Elvis as a person. You don't just get the usual facts. I liked the interview with Kathy Westmoreland best, because I find it very interesting how Elvis behaved in a relationship, as a friend and as a lover. The story of John Wilkinson is also great. He tells us how he met Elvis as a boy, and then years later, met him again and joined his band. The most interesting thing for an Elvis fan is to hear the stories of people who had the luck to meet Elvis, such as the story of Sandi Miller. She describes every fan's dream, meeting Elvis. Let's turn to what most people are interested in - the 8mm tapes. I think they are just wonderful. When did you ever see Elvis this way before ? The quality of the tapes is outstanding. Normally if you buy 8mm tapes you can hardly recognize Elvis, and you get only some short clips. On this DVD you can see Elvis at his best in this fabulous suit, we only knew from pictures so far. The way he moves and his performance is so different from for example, "That's The Way It Is". Such great quality and this from as early as 1970 ! Espacially the California tapes are very rare. I, personally, have never seen something like this before. What has often been criticized are the candids. Some of them are blurred and distorted. But that doesn't bother me because the pics are very rare and just great. If you like such tapes, you should get this DVD. If you are only interested in original music you should rather slick to Elvis's movies and documentations. |
