Jeremy Goes to Maui, Hawaii
August 23-29, 2004

Our flight to Maui: Jeremy only began to fall asleep as we were descending. Mike and Serena had fun keeping him occupied!

When we landed, Jeremy was less than thrilled. He had only slept for 20 minutes!!

One of Jeremy's highlights was riding the bus to and from the car rental place. At Avis, he's all smiles!

Our first stop was at the Hawaii Nature Center

Who knew that Jeremy would be able to ski in the middle of summer?!?

This is at the Iao Needle

Jeremy was most interested in the rocks!

We stayed at the Fairmont Kea Lani in Wailea. Jeremy would later come to call this our "Hawaii House"

He seemed very happy in the morning!

One morning, we went for a stroll along a beachside path by the hotel

Here's Jeremy enjoying some water at Maui Tacos in Lahaina

We took a ride on the Sugar Cane Train - Serena wondered why they did not give samples of sugar during the ride!

This is a place called Dragon's Teeth, where rock formations look like "teeth" (or so they claim). Serena had to walk through a golf course to get there. Luckily, there were only a few golfers around.

The Nakahele Blowhole - Jeremy wanted to go all the way to the blowhole, but it looked a little too steep for a 2 year-old!

We went to a Luau at the Royal Lahaina Hotel, which was supposed to be the most kid-friendly...they had mac n cheese and chicken nuggets.

Jeremy was just mesmerized at the hula dancers and the fire dancers

Breakfast on the patio

Our view from the hotel patio

The pool at the Fairmont was a lot of fun for all of us. Jeremy actually went down the water slide with Mike, but Serena only captured it on video...

The beach was beautiful and warm. Jeremy wanted to run full speed into the ocean.

Jeremy just loved these horse statues scattered around the hotel grounds. He would sit on it and say, "Put money in."

Lounging at the hotel

Dinner at a 50's Diner in Kihei. Even we let Jeremy eat ice cream...sometimes!

More fun at the beach.

We went on a semi-submersible submarine called "The Reefdancer," where divers come and bring ocean life to the windows. Although it doesn't look like it here, Jeremy loved it!

Wiped out from an exhausting day in Maui.

Back at the pool.

The Maui Ocean Center. Jeremy loved the sea turtles!

Our last day in Maui was a day of rest...not like the others weren't.

On the way back to the airport, we did some sightseeing around North Maui and even spotted a waterfall!

Our flight home was a red-eye flight. Jeremy slept the whole way! ALOHA!
