Selphie is a very lively exchange student from Trabia Garden. Due to her high spirited nature and carefree manner she is always able to lift the teams spirits when they are down.
Squall literally "bumps into" Selphie at Balamb Garden early on in the game, where he learns Selphie also wishes to pass her practical SeeD exam. She fits in well at Balamb Garden and immediately makes friends there, including many more serious students. She is different from the others as due to her nature, even in times of trouble or when in battle nothing lowers her spirits and this is why she seems so out of place at a military academy such as garden. Surprisingly, this approach of hers usually does not land her in trouble and can sometimes even help the team with the problems they will undoubtedly face.
Selphie always amazes her friends and always manages to get out of the tightest of situations. She always obeys her orders (Unlike Seifer), and is always friendly while doing them. Despite all of this she is lethal with her Nunchankos and definitely should not be underestimated in battle.
