Last Time in my demented little world...
After making a wish on a dodgy website, I ended up with Cheetor next door. A few minutes after knocking him out with a bit of fence, a car drove up carrying the rest of his supposed 'family'. Due to myself wishing he officially existed in this world, the family was a kind of given. Unfortunately Cheetor knew nothing of this... strangely enough for me the family turning up introduced another of my wishes. While Cheetor had appeared in my next-door backyard, my fanfic character Flash popped up in the car. Like Cheetor he was not happy to be dragged so suddenly into my world. Unlike Cheetor he wanted to kill me. So he got locked in a bedroom. I stayed for dinner and nothing happened at dinner either, other than I was pleasantly surprised to see he had to eat while being held at gunpoint. By this time I'd already decided he was on my list.
By Sunday, Flash and Cheetor had resigned themselves to their situation. They knew that there was no way in hell to get them back home. But as I tried to explain, it wasn't such a bad thing. Had Cheetor stayed in his world he would have gone onto ::shudder:: Beast Machines, (ack! Bad taste in my mouth!) and Flash at least had the chance to exist to a wider audience. Although I hadn't managed to completely convert them to the idea of living in my world, they weren't going to go around yelling out the secret now. Not that anyone would believe them. They had adjusted quite well to their human forms.
Both Flash and Cheetor had ended up tall but that was where the similarity pretty much ended. Cheetor had ended up blond with a sorta-orderly haircut and an elfish kind of face. Not to say he wasn't gorgeous, but more in a 'cheeky' kind of way. You know the type, that good-looking guy who sits up back and chucks smart comments at the teacher? Well, Cheets fitted that category to a tee. Aah, but he filled it so well...
As for Flash...
Well, Flash... I mentioned we were not getting on. I don't really understand it, he'd always been an easy-going guy in my fanfiction. Admittedly my fanfics weren't the greatest, not even close (which is why I'm rewriting them), but I just had this sort of idea of him being a little less... crappy. Alright, so I dragged him out of BW world without warning. Get over it! He was totally acting above and beyond the call of duty in this kind of even happening. Flash had originally been a blue, black and white bot with a bit of black wolf mixed in. Now as a human, he was kinda pale with a shaggy dark haircut and mean yellow eyes. Also attractive but in a darker kind of way. Girls would be attracted to Cheetor because he made them smile. Girls would be attracted to Flash because... I suppose there's always that element of danger mixed in, that kind of broody approach that promises excitement if only you care to break through. Not that I particularly wanted to, he had been trying to kill me as of late. Mostly death threats, but... given half a chance, he would have done it.
That was why I spent most of Sunday hanging out with Cheetor and avoiding him. Such was the legacy of our first meeting.
Flashback to Saturday, I suppose...
The two 'parents' had already disappeared with 'Matt'. He'd jumped out of the car, following a screaming, crying little girl in pigtails who had come tearing out. The first thing Flash saw was the broken fence. He stared at it for a long while before finally coming up to look at me. We made a little introduction and I launched into my speil.
"Flash, you're probably wondering what happened and how I know who you are. I'm not going to beat around the bush. The truth of the matter is... well... I wished you here."
He stared at me blankly. I explained a little more.
He stared a little more. And now he moved, catapulting over the car to grab me and shove me against the wall. "You what?!!" he yelled.
"I- erk- I wished you here." I got the feeling that telling him I had wished him over wasn't such a good idea. "It was just a stupid wish..."
"Your 'stupid wish' somehow pulled me off the Axalon, away from the Beast Wars, took me through time and landed me here is HUMAN FORM. I WANT MY GUN!!" He yelled, banging me hard against the wall. Ha! Screw him if he thought I was going to give him a damn gun! "You'd better figure out just what happened and just how you can undo it." Flash's eyes practically began to glow dark red. I squirmed and resisted a high-pitched giggle.
"Or what? You'll shoot me?" You don't have a gu-un, nyaah nah.
Pity, really. Not even ten minutes of having them in my world and I'd already given Cheetor concussion and pissed off Flash. Great track record I have...
"What was Brendan doing honey? Ssh, it's ok!" There came the sound of someone comforting a sobbing girl. "What was- BRENDAN!!" The woman stormed out of the house again and stood glaring at Flash. "Why did you punch your sister?!"
"She's not my sister." Flash grated. "I've been saying that for three megacycles!! I don't even know you people!!
"That's enough of this game young man, I want you inside and I want you inside now."
He stared at her with furious eyes. Not saying anything, just staring. She stared right back.
"I wish I had my gun so I could shoot her." he said beneath his breath.
"Who? Me or her?" I piped up.
"Both!"
I refrained the urge to smack his head against the window. Must subdue... urge to kill...
To cut a long story short, Flash attempted to kill his 'mother' as well as me, his 'father' retrieved a shotgun and 'Brendan' was locked up in a bedroom.
Of course, after seeing this wonderful display I was charming to the family while I introduced myself, and ran off as soon as I could get away to Cheetor. Or 'Matt' as they insisted on calling him. The entire family struck me as somewhat off-balance and when I finally went home that night I was kind of glad that my family was normal. Until I saw my dad had retrived the dynamite. Then I was just plain glad.
Monday Morning
The short remaining day had passed quickly. Sundays usually do, and that depresses me. Watching the hours dwindling by until I returned to that most dreaded of places... to try ignore the un-ignorable, I spent my time with Flash and Cheetor. Mostly Cheetor. Flash was not integrating well into society. The first chance he had he'd backed me up against a wall again.
"I'm going to kill you."
Apart from that minor detail, all was bliss.
"AND TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE BEGINNING TO WAKE UP AND FACE THE DAY, THE TEMPERATURE IS A COOL 24 DEGREES SO-"
"Aargh!" I jerked up in bed and looked wildly around for the source of the noise. My gaze fell upon a small inconspicuous clock-radio next to my computer screen. "Shut up! Shut up!" I waded through the junk on my floor to shut it off. 6:15. The perfect start to a day. Most of my morning system is to sit on the bed dazedly for about 10 minutes and do nothing in particular. It's my 'recovery' time. After sleeping in until 10am during the holidays, I needed it.
By the time I'd managed to actually get up and dress up and try to wrestle with my hair, it was quarter to seven. I decided I'd go next door and see how my two little 'friends' were doing. I wondered if they'd be actually coming to school with me. Yes, of course they must. They existed, didn't they? Picking up my (heavy!) bag I stomped outside.
The first sound I was aware of was the sound of a high-pitched scream. "Garbie! Garbie! Garbie!"
Garbie?
Before I had even crossed the shambled fence, Cheetor/'Matt' came hurtling out of the door. He was dressed in pj's and closely followed by... the terror. 'Pigtails and lisps' was chasing him frantically with what looked suspiciously like... Barbies... in her hands...
"Rachelle! Save me!" Cheetor screamed in panic. "She's trying to make me do strange things with dolls!" He grabbed me and raced behind me before I could open my mouth. I turned to give him a questioning look. He was... petrified.
"Melissa." I said soothingly, turning back to the little horror one and leaning down. "Chee- Matt doesn't wanna play with Barbies at the moment."
"GARBIE!" She flung one of the blond evil things in my face. I picked it up and threw it right back at her.
"DO YOU WANT TO TRY THAT AGAIN?!" I yelled in what can only be called my 'roaring' voice.
Melissa stared at me, her big brown eyes suddenly flooding with tears. "MOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!"
I watched as she fled indoors. Cheetor practically collapsed at my feet.
"Thank you. Oh, thank you."
"I pity you."
The door was flung open again and Flash stormed out. "What's all the fragging noise about?!"
"Who woke up on the wrong side of Bessie?" I asked. He stared at me. I remembered it was an inside joke and he probably wouldn't get it. "Nothing."
"Right."
"So what's in the bag?" Cheetor grabbed my bag and tried to unzip it.
"Hey, that's still on me!" I tried to pull myself away. He laughed and held on tighter. I strained even more. "Let go of the damn bag!!"
"Okay."
Before I could tell myself just how stupid that was, he released me and I jerked forward and almost collapsed under the weight of chemistry books. "You're on my list!!"
"Ooh, look at me shaking!!"
I glared at him.
"Good morning boys." Mrs Jenkinson appeared at the door. "Rachelle, what's Melissa talking about?"
Beneath her voice I heard whimpering. "She threw it at me mommy, she threw it! She's a mean girl, mommy."
"Oh... we had a minor... disagreement... didn't we, Melissa" I turned on my 'almost growly but not quite more, of a warning system type thing' voice. "But no problem... isn't that right?"
Melissa's voice was little. "Yes."
I smiled enchantingly. "So are Brendan and Matt coming to school today?"
"School?" Mrs Jenkinson looked confused. "Is..."
"I'm off now, as you can see." I displayed my shirt and turned around to show her my bag.
"Oh! School!" Mrs Jenkinson's face cleared up and I felt a wierd lurch in my stomach meaning that reality was undergoing another slight shift. "Of course, school! What are you two doing out here, you're late! Come back in here and get ready, NOW! Rachelle, can you just wait a while and show these boys what to do?"
"You... want me to help them in there?" I shot a glance toward the house, evil little images going through my head, hehehe.
"No, at school, silly." She laughed a grating kind of laugh and dragged the boys back in. I tapped my foot and waited. Ten minutes later the guys were shoved back out with a light kiss and a cuddle. Cheetor resisted, Flash stiffened. Shall I describe what they looked like? ^_^ Well, Cheetor was dressed in the usual uniform. A dark blue shirt with the logo on, and some long dark pants beneath. Flash had probably also gone for the uniform but it was hidden beneath his black jacket. He had the same kind of pants on as Cheetor and was not looking too happy. Neither of them were, actually. Cheetor kept wriggling.
"I don't like these." he complained. "They're itchy. Maximals don't wear clothes."
I paid no attention to what I was saying. "So take them off."
It was a few seconds before I realised what he was doing. "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?! IT WAS SLAGGING SARCASM!!"
Cheetor stopped midway through undoing his fly. "What?"
"You WEREN'T supposed to be... oh for crying out loud." I did a rapid turn and waved at the people who were staring at us from across the street. They hurried onwards. "Just put your damn clothes back on."
Cheetor did his fly back up and retrieved his shirt. A bit of a pity, really. Now if only Flash had bothered... ACK! NO!
"Uh, guys, let's get going." I said with mock-brightness, trying to get that horrible thought out of my head. "The bus-stop's just at the top of the street."
Flash and Cheetor looked at each other and exchanged worried glances. "We're going to regret this, aren't we?" Cheetor said nervously, pulling his collar.
"Yup." Flash replied.
I sighed. As much as I didn't want to, I had to agree with them. I regretted going to school every single day I went. And then some. "Come on guys. Lets go catch the bus to Purgatory."
"You mean school." Cheetor corrected.
"Same thing."
We entered the school without any major problems. My two friends who were supposed to be on the bus were not there, presumably because they had managed to catch a lift. Hey, maybe they'd even called me and I wasn't in the house for obvious reasons... Our bus isn't usually full on the first day for other obvious reasons, so we were able to get seats without any big dramas. No one gave Flash or Cheetor a second glance, they managed to pull their image off quite well, for a first time in public. But before entering the actual school part, I took a deep breath and made a quick prayer.
"This way." With a heavy heart I led the guys toward the little area where I sit. It's a couple of concrete blocks beside the art-block, near the maths-block and next to the not-really-a-pool-because-it-has-no-water-so-it's-just-a-hole-in-the-ground pool. "Some people should be there already..." As we approached I halted and took another deep breath. "What you see may scare or distress you. Keep in mind that these beings are harmless, as long as caution is taken when around them-"
"Rachelle!"
A voice! Behind me! I whirled, not ready for a rear attack. "Tanya!"
Flash and Cheetor looked to see who I was addressing. Tanya actually halted, seeing these two guys on either side of me. They were sticking pretty close, having never actually seen so many humans in one place at one time. Not that there were many there though, so early in the morning.
"Hi... Rachelle..." Tanya began walking toward us again, only very slowly. Her eyes behind her glasses were either wonderous or suspicious. I guess she was wondering just how much I'd paid these two...
"Careful guys. She has a tendency to be..." I gulped.
"Be what?!" Cheetor demanded. I stopped his further question by holding a hand out and sighing sadly.
"It's alright, Cheetor. 'Tis... too late." I looked up at Tanya and smiled with mock-brightness. "Hi, Tan! Good holiday? Oh, these are..." I paused, wondering if I should tell her their true identities. No, probably not. Save the surprises until later. "...Matt, and Brendan. They moved in next door to me on the holidays."
"Oh, really!" Tanya gave them both a smile. She was being rather quiet, actually, while we stood there. Struck dumb with...?
"Guys, this is Tanya." For no reason at all I was beginning to giggle hysterically. Stress! "She's our little blond angel." Not so little, she was a whole fragging three inches taller than me!!
"Hi." Tanya lifted her hand up to wave limply. She was really blown away. I could just imagine what she was thinking. Rachelle turning up with two gorgeous guys?! I relished the thought and made a mental note to remind her about Dean. Her boyfriend. As in, she was taken. Ha! These two are mine! All mine! Raah! Now where did that thought come from? Anyway...
As evil little thoughts ran through my mind, Cheetor mimicked Tanya's gesture. "Hi." he flashed another of those sexy grins.
Flash grunted.
I glared at him before addressing Tanya. Flash was really getting to me now. "They're new so I told them they could sit with us." I continued.
"Oh, sure." Tanya agreed quickly. Too quickly. With more enthusiasm than I'd like, actually... GRR! MINE! I took a step closer to Cheetor. He looked at me, at a loss for what to do.
"Come on, let's go sit." We approached the blocks and I took my regular position on the painted cat's tongue. After some inspection, they chose to sit down in their respective positions.
"Ack! Cold!" Flash jumped up like a fire was lit beneath him and glared down at the seat. I saw him pat his pocket for the gun that wasn't there. Oh dear...
"The seats are like that in winter." Tanya piped up in a reassuring tone. Flash shot her an evil look and sat down again prissily. I snorted into my hand at his outraged expression. Poor Flash. I hated him, but he was so damn pathetic sometimes it was hard not to feel sorry for him.
"So where're you guys from?" Tanya began to make a little conversation. I noticed her question was more directed to Cheetor, as Flash was still being a sulky shit. But I still tensed myself, ready to smack her around the head and drag her to Dean's area if I had to. Feel the calmness. FEEL the calmness. FEEL THE CALMNESS
"Oh, we're from Cyber-"
Don't say Cybertron! "Cyberville!" I yelped. Cheetor halted and stared at me. I seem to get that alot... "Cyberbille. In NSW. Don't tell me you haven't heard of it, Tan."
"First I've heard..." Flash said softly, but Cheetor slowly nodded.
"Cyberville." he confirmed reluctantly. The 'are you nuts?' expression he gave me told me that he had resigned himself to fate.
"And you like Hedland?" Tanya continued.
I groaned. What was with it with the third degree already?! Couldn't she tell the guys were new? I also noticed that most of her attention was turned on Cheetor. I had to resist the urge to strangle. Bad Tanya! My Cheetor!
"Umm... yeah." Cheetor fidgeted nervously.
"So why did you guys come here?"
"I..."
I bailed him out again. "Parent's Work. Uh, BHP. They've only been here a couple of days."
"But the time is just flying by. Seems like so much less than that." Flash spat out.
"Yes, isn't Hedland fun." I smiled sweetly to him.
"Yes." Flash smiled back suddenly, looking somehow both a heart-breaker and sadistic all at once. No doubt at this very moment he wanted to string me up in the trees. Or shoot me with his now non-existent gun. But as he smiled, even though I knew it was sadism at its highest, all I could think of was how damn GORGEOUS he looked. Ha! Forget just Cheetor! I want both! Collect the whole set!!
"It's really fun." Flash agreed, that wierd smile still on. "But I think I know what would make it even more fun."
I choked. To anyone else it would seem like he was hitting on me. I could see the thought on Tanya's face, that little smile she put on. She thought he was hitting on me. But I'd been inside Flash's mind, I knew what he was thinking. Oh, he wanted to spend time with me alright. Spend time torturing me!
"So. Rachelle, tell me more about these guys." Tanya smiled at me, an evil conniving smile. We had gotten bored of waiting for the rest of the 'Inner Circle' to arrive and had gone to the Front Office so the guys coudl get their schedules and Form rooms. Due to a little 'arrangement' with reality, they were in all the same as me. I had an idea that Cheetor would like to do Sport though, and had made up my mind to ask him later. It could probably be arranged. For now the two were merely signing into the school and having a few questions answered.
At Tanya's question chocmilk almost spewed across the floor but I swallowed rapidly. Instead of spewing, I briefly choked. "What about them?" I sounded a little strangled, mostly due to the fact I was trying to get the liquid out of my nose.
"Come on, you turn up with two gorgeous guys and you expect me not to want to know anything? So what's the deal, huh?" Tanya gave me a dig on the ribs which made me almost drop the bottle. I tried to give her a superiour look but failed utterly.
"They moved in next door." I took a swig of chocca to try stall time.
"When?"
"About two days ago, I think." I wasn't really sure. When exactly had the wish come true? My computer hadn't been souped up when I had woken. Just how much of the wish had come true anyway?
"You think? You guys seem pretty close for a two-day meeting. So what do you think of them?" Oh yes, there was Tanya's grin. That sneaky little grin...
"They're pretty cute." I anwered shortly. As in I wouldn't mind jumping them but that's beside the point...
"Pretty cute? They're slagging gorgeous!! (that wasn't really what she said but I think you know)" Tanya looked over at them with wide-eyes. Flash was arguing with the receptionist. "I have the sudden urge to break up with Dean."
I almost leapt on her and wrestle her to the ground. "No! Mine!" I panicked.
"Getting possessive now?" She gave me a smug look. I smirked and realised Flash's tone had gone up several notches.
"What do you mean you don't have a slagging transwarp wave generator?! This is an educational institute, isn't it? You should have one somewhere!!!" Flash was back to patting his pockets for missing weapons and reaching for the nearest piece of pottery.
"I can't help you with that-" The receptionist began.
CRASH!
The clay head smashed onto the floor. Flash looked down at it, then up to the receptionist. "Oops." He smiled that sadistic-yet-sexy smile. "Now... just fragging tell me where the slagged thing is and I'll go!!" Flash yelled. The receptionist looked at him in shock.
"Try Mr Walker-" she began. The Vice-Principal ran out of his office.
"What just broke?" he saw the remains of the head on the ground.
"I dropped it. I'm sorry." Flash sounded wooden and very not-sorry. The principal stared at him, then the receptionist.
"What happened."
Flash gave her his 'patent-pending hate-filled look of imminent doom' (As opposed to the patented 'hate-filled look of I'M GOING TO KILL YOU NOW' which he was in the habit of giving me)
"He picked it up and... dropped it." The receptionist visibly flinched beneath his gaze.
I noticed with a lurch that the entire staff had turned around to look as the principal stared at Flash. "Come into the office, young man."
Those words spelled doom.
D-O-O-M. Doom.
I followed them into the office. After explaining that I was with 'Brendan Jenkinson', the principal let me stay as he began a long talk with the boy.
"What were you doing outside with that pottery, my boy?" he began.
"I'm not your boy." Flash fair snarled.
"Now listen here, I want an explanation for your behaviour and I want it now!" Mr M's bespectacled eyes bugged out freakily. I took a little step back toward the door.
Flash merely sat silent, glaring at the VP.
"You're going to have to tell me eventually. I can keep you in for the rest of the day, if I need to."
Silence.
"If that's the way you want it." Mr M stood up to leave. A revelation leapt upon me and I went rifling through Flash's bag. There was a sudden lurch in my stomach.
"Oh, wait sir!" I snatched the little pink bottle out of the bag and held it aloft triumphantly.
"What?" Mr M began.
"It's his Meds, sir. I just remembered then, he has this kind of... behavioural problem." I flinched beneath Flash's... yes, glare. "He was supposed to take some this morning but he was in such a hurry... his mum told me to make sure he took it at school but stupid me, still stuck in holiday mode!" I smacked my head with my palm. "Here's a note." Another lurch and I dug my hand into Flash's jacket pocket to retrieve a crumpled piece of notepaper. He didn't have time to jerk away and I was even able to give him a little whack around the head. No reason. He just deserved it.
Mr M took the note and checked it. "Yes, this checks out." He hemmed. "Alright. Brendan, I'm going to be ringing up your mother but I don't see any reason why you need to stay here."
Flash got up a little less gratefully than he really should have.
"However, you'll be expected to clean that mess up out there."
Flash tensed.
Five minutes later I exited the office with a noticeably subdued Flash. Cheetor and Tanya stood up expectantly at our sober faces.
"I'm going to kill him." Flash said quite calmly. I quite agreed.
"He is in league with Barney."
When we got outside, the school was visibly more filled with people. A few buses must have arrived during our stint in the office. I turned to Flash.
"You're welcome."
"What?! What do I have to thank you for?!" He glared at me.
"Just you're welcome." I gave him another smile.
"Ruh-shellie!!!" Two voices called my name in chorus. I turned to meet two short people ^_^ "Hi Ruhshellie, I haven't seen you in ages!"
"Clare!" I gave a great big grin to Clare and another one to Jen. "Jennie!! Guys, this's Fla-" Damn, I kept doing that. "Brendan and Matt. And I think you know Tanya."
"Of course we know Tanya... well hi guys, my name's Clare." She was certainly quick at introducing herself.
"And I'm Jennie."
I resolved to remind these two of Gerald and Jayson.
"Hi." Cheetor grinned. Guess what Flash did!!!
Nothing. Ack! Killer glare of death! Nooo...!
I was reeeeeally getting steamed at him now...
"So you two are new friends of Rachelle's, huh?" Clare was... she was sizing these two up. Normally, the Clare I'm used to, would have immediately began either flirting or picking a fight with Flash. But not right now. Slightly wary of these boys who had immediately popped up (and slightly flirty at these boys who had immediately popped up >_<), she was just watching out for me. The full-on ass-kicking and flirtation would begin, oh, in a few hours at least.
"We've just had a minor drama in the front office," I informed her. "Nothing major..."
Soon, the entire group was introduced to 'Matt' and 'Brendan'. They all reacted pretty much the same way. Stunned silence and then... well, yeah. I was getting slightly... possessive... I'm not exactly proud of the way I reacted but it couldn't be helped. But I hoped I had expressed very firmly that no one would be messing with these guys.
Of course, once word got around it wasn't quite so easy. Within no time at all our area was mobbed by flocks of girls. Not nearly enough for me to fight off. Not nearly. Poor Cheetor was standing utterly still and trying to answer while this mob of what I can only describe as seagulls screamed questions at him.
"Where do you live, Port or South?"
"What's your name?"
"Come sit here on my lap, prettyboy!"
"Wehre are you from?
"Woohoo!!"
"When did you come?"
"Hey sexyboy, I want some of that!"
"Do you have a girlfriend yet?!"
Cheetor, in utter terror, grabbed me through the crowd. "Yeah! I do! And- uh! Yeah!"
There were about a thousand 'awwwwwws' of disappointment. Five seconds later, Flash had been surrounded by the girls that had just been around Cheetor!
Much the same scene.
However, Flash answered these questions only with his copyrighted 'dark brooding glare of death'. All the same, I guess Clare thought she'd also help bail out the guys because the next thing I heard was another big 'awwwww' of disappointment. The crowd dispersed to see Flash and Clare hugging each other very tightly... GRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING CLARE AND IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK...
Clare turned to Flash, not letting go. Good thing Cheetor was holding me very tightly..."You owe me one, wolf boy." she said with an almost predatory grin. "Though I can't say that I wouldn't mind..."
Wolf boy? She couldn't know. But he did look a little like a wolf, especially with that shaggy dark hair... and the way it fell over his eyes... damn, i thought I wouldn't get into that. But still...
"Is that the way we talk to our boyfriend now, is it??" Flash grinned a grin that held many promises. The kind that meant pain and death as he took great pleasure in directing it at me. Gee, you'd think he'd forget he had a vendetta against my life for just a moment.
"Technical boyfriend. Remember?" Clare reminded him.
"Technically..." Flash said softly, leering.
"Aaaaaannd?" Clare said in a warning tone.
"Nothing..." he smiled secretively. All innuendo this may have been was completely lost for me, as Cheetor REALLY had to restrain me.
"Get your hands off me!" Clare yelled. Hmm, instant dislike. Guess I was not the only one with the caustic effect around here. Clare had to reach up verrrrrrrrrrrrry high to slap Flash hard before turning heel and stalking away. Flash grinned and watched her leave, not even reaching up to rub his cheek. He shot me a look with that grin. He was enjoying this, was he? I could feel Cheetor's hands tense on my shoulders. He also knew what was going through Flash's mind at the moment... the maniac!!
The moment Clare slapped Flash, there were 'ahs' from the crowd. "They aren't going to last long, are they?" The scene was over, the girls filled with joy, hope and satisfaction. Within seconds the place was almost deserted again.
I looked from the retreating bodies, back up to Cheetor.
"You were joking, weren't you?"
Cheetor frowned down at me until he realised he was still holding my shoulders. Then he let go of me so quickly it was insulting. "Uh yeah. Sure. Of course I was. Those girls are... are all human girls like that?" Back to nerves. He was really very paranoid, wasn't he? I suppose I would be too, were I in the Beast Wars...
"Only the normal ones." I smiled. "And there's a helluvalot around. But don't worry, if you stick with me you won't see that many around. We don't tend to mix."
"Thank Primus!!"
