Carbuncle looks very odd. I think he is like an alien of some kind. When summoned he pops out of a hole in the ground and casts reflect on your whole party. this is not very useful except in certain boss fights however when Junctioned Carbuncle gives your party valuable abilities. the status defense and attack junction abilities should be exploited.
On the Edea assassination mission Rinoa gets attacked by two monsters (Iguions). Squall has to rescue her. In the boss fight Carbuncle can be drawn from any of the Iguions.
