Getting To Know Your Lair Staff

by various submitions

The staff of the Lair aren't just a bunch of nemotoads wearing capes, they're nemotoads wearing staff cloaks. From almost a dozen various Lair players, we have compiled this short section on the staff members. Do you know them as well as you think you do? I would also like to take this moment to thank the brave individuals who risked their lives to bring us this information. - NL

Name: Admin Abby
Alternate Characters: Dewdrop, Ivanhoe
Best-Known Quib: It's tough to narrow it down to just one thing ... senseless tweaking of staff-favorite characters, simply using public SPHERE scripts without making much of her own, standing behind a slew of double-standards, enjoying acts of deciet on other players (she played as Ivanhoe, and joined my former Pirate Guild to "teach me a lesson", for example) ... but I'm going to have to choose the more recent incident - threatening me with sending the National Security Agency after me. For those of us who have some sense of intelligence, we know that the NSA isn't quite like it is in movies. They really just work on decryption and encryption of political or war messages, and manage taking care of the security of government technology. They don't assassinate people, they don't spy on people, and they also have nothing to do with anything I've ever done. I really admire the work the NSA has done in the last 50 years, they're heroes, but I think Abby needs to remember that just because I'm Canadian doesn't mean I'm a risk to the United States government. But thanks for the bluff nonetheless, dear. You just need to watch less TV.

Name: Molly
Alternate Character: Shala
Best-Known Quib: Abby's 6 year-old daughter, and is also the sole reason why the "No Swearing" laws were introduced.

Name: Skye
Alternate Character: Trinity [HoL]
Best-Known Quib: A powerful lack of humour.

Name: Ying
Alternate Character: Neo [HoL]
Best-Known Quib: Rarely online, let alone for very long. Doesn't do much more than play second bannana in weekend quests.

Name: Legion
Alternate Character: Minix [HoL]
Best-Known Quib: Using his staff privileges to turn himself invisible and follow players around, hoping they'll break a rule so that he can jail them. He's also quite the eavesdropper.

Name: Kerowyn
Alternate Character: Gwenevere [HoL]
Best-Known Quib: Her want for roleplaying (though sometimes in a misguided sense) is often dwarfed by the shear amount of whining this woman does. No wonder I couldn't get rid of her when I was Baja Shard - she was staff. Go figure. Certainly explains why Abby always took her side, inspite of the evidence presented.

Name: Cerridwen
Alternate Character: Dystini [HoL]
Best-Known Quib: Constantly letting people know she was both Dystini AND Cerridwen.

Name: Digital
Alternate Character: MArtist X [HoL]
Best-Known Quib: I never had any fault with his attempt at trying to be creative (Lair Picture Day, for example). I think he and I just came to blows because he was sticking up as a staff member, and not as a player. Other than he likes to brag a lot, really my only quam with him, I still don't think he deserved the treatment he recieved from his fellow Lair staff members. It's a sin that the more creative staff member got the axe.

Things You Should Know:
- Trinity duped her character over ten thousand logs so that she wouldn't have to chop any trees
- Dystini made new animals and monsters that are insanely easy, with very cheap loot, just so that new HoL members could buy better equipment sooner. Which brings us to ...
- You might want to pay attention to how many staff members are in the Heroes of Legends guild. It might explain a lot of things about that guild, actually
- Sincerely Sinister was banned for simply making comments on how he thought the Lair was doing. The staff didn't like him because he had killed a few vendors, which the staff hate having to spend all-of 15 seconds to replace by hand
- Players are now often punished for speaking out against the shard
- The staff is worried that their "dream" of what the shard should be, is falling apart
