IF YOU KNEW A THIEF WAS COMING................
This organization was formed in 1986 when black students on the campus felt underepresented.  After numerous reactivations, in Summer of 2003 students at the chapter also felt underrepresented so they formed the UAB NAACP Student Organization.  Since its national reactivation in December of 2003; this organization's members has created an exemplory NAACP program for the community and for the University.

The UAB Chapter of the NAACP is worthy of your contribution.

We won the "2003-2004 BEST NEW YOUTH UNIT AWARD" at the 52nd Annual Southeast Region Civil Rights Advocacy Training Institute.  We won in 2005 the "2005-2006 BEST YOUTH UNIT IN THE REGION AWARD" at the NAACP Regional Conference in Orlando, Florida.  These awards show the city of Birmingham and the State of Alabama that our NAACP Unit is one of the best in the Southeast and in the nation.
