| Lady Naira's Lament of Menegroth Hush be the birds when night has dawned, save harmony's nightingale. He sings the song of lovers gone, and halls once lively hailed. Where time stood still and history well lived, Of old we sing a new. Remembered are those who've passed beyond the veil of life's great dew. Of Golden Gates and gems so rare, did Melian guard our home. A great King lived in halls so fair, but now is elven song. And so we sing as the nightingale, we sing with eyes to stars. Of beauty rare that blessed us fair which so long has now been gone. |
