I Keep Walking

My will, broken like a fallen bird's wing,
crushed under the force of impact,
lay before me for all to see.

I walk, dragging my feet along the road.
I am tired and weak.
I want to lay down and rest.
Go to sleep and make it all go away.

But I keep on walking in the light of the sun.
Hoping for a brand new day.
