I, Wildflower, am a traditional woman dancer of the Cree/Ojibwa/Metis Nations.  I dance to honor the grandmothers who have danced upon my Earth Mother before me.  I wear traditional buckskin regalia as did my ancestors.  The majority of my regalia including dresses, moccasins, shawls, fans, purses and jewelry have been made by me or by friends and gifted to me.  I do not dance in contest PowWows as that is not the reason that I dance.  My moccasins are soft so that I may feel my Mothers heartbeat as I step lightly upon her.  As you can see above, I do not seek shelter from the rain when I dance just as the animals do not seek shelter from the cleansing rain.  The white beaded bag in the left hand photo was passed down to me by my father's mother.  I honor all my relatives both living and those who have passed over and offer prayers for all.
May the Creator be with all of you and keep you safe.
