Professors instruct, teachers teach, Preachers preach, parents give examples to their children, books are written so humans can learn, humans watch other humans, and the list goes on. What is this activity which we call obtaining Knowledge? Do we really gain knowledge from our gurus, or do we in the end, teach ourselves?
To address this issue of obtaining or gaining knowledge, we have to examine in detail the Human factor of the Knowledge Acquisition Process along with our current ideas concerning the nature of knowledge which seems to be embedded in Information Theory. To quantify this issue we have the following factors which qualify for scrutiny.
  1. The Human Factor.
  2. Information Theory.
  3. Knowledge Acquisition.
  4. Understanding.

How do I begin to examine the concepts necessary so we can have a clear idea of the intricate details concerning this topic of the transferrence of knowledge. To have a clear idea seems to indicate an understanding of what is going on. How can we achieve an understainding to broach the subject of understanding? We must have a starting point. Do I have to work backwards, from an assumption that we have a basic understanding known through this language I use to communicate. Yes, this seems like a viable idea to me, so let us start with an understanding, a basic understanding of the English language.

The easiest point seems to be that everyting is in one's head. Notwithstanding a lot of things are in the physical world which seems to be external to an individual human. If one human was the center of the world, every other human would be extant in the world outside of that particular one human.

To be continued...
