| Remind me to never accept another drink from Joey or Chris ever again. The voice groaned from the kitchen doorway. Lance looked up from the mornings paper laid out on the table in front of him and grinned. Justin definitely looked the worse for wear. His newly-grown curls where messed in every direction from sleep, and him running his hand over his head wasnt helping to much. His eyes were red, a sign of the hangover he must be feeling, a reminder of the night before. Lance chuckled as Justin plopped into the chair across from his. Thats what you said the last time and I tried to remind you. Lance stood up to refill his coffee cup. Coffee? He got a mumbled reply. GOOD MORNING!! Chris I swear to god if you dont stop screaming well be looking for your replacement in the group by tomorrow. Headache? The amused tone in the older mans voice caused Justin to growl. Chris. Two words. Justin lifted his head off the table to glare at Chris as he took his seat next to Lance. Shut.Up. Lance returned to his chair, sliding Justins coffee over to him carefully. Thanks Poof. Lance cringed at the hated nickname. Cant you just let Poofu die already? Hell no. Justin sipped his coffee, grimacing at the bitter taste. Poofus classic. The next man entered the kitchen, stratching his wife-beater covered chest with one hand. Never gonna let Poofu die. Not even if I asked nice? Lance asked hopefully, slapping Chris hand away when he reached for the comic section. Nu-uh, Im not done with that one yet. Didnt your mother ever teach you how to share? Chris whined, but went ignored. Youve been asking nicely for years, whats gonna change now? Joey took the fourth seat at the table, between Chris and Lance. Obviously not your minds. Lance grumbled as he went back to the newspapers. The three around him chuckled. So whos ready for practice, practice and more practice? Justin asked as he leaned back in his chair. His question was met with groans. Didnt we JUST end a tour? Joey asked as he rubbed a hand over his stubbled face. Coupla months ago. Time to go out again. So whos ready to deal with Wades torture sessions again? Cant we just skip all that? Maybe we can talk them into just letting us sit and sing. Chris complained. My old bones cant take it anymore! The last statement was said in a voice imitation of a much older man. We have faith in you old timer. Youll survive it. Joey patted the man on the back. Besides, even if you do expire on us Im sure we could find ourselves a replacement. Har. Har. So whens our flight to sunny Florida leave again? Justin changed the subject before a full out wrestling match happened in his fathers house. Sometime last week he had been asked to house-sit when his father and step-mother, Lisa, had had to fly out to attend the a funeral. He had been at the house alone for three days before calling his friends and group-mates down for a party. That had been last night. Later in the day Lisa and his father would be coming back. When they did return, he wanted their house to be in one piece. Tomorrow. Six am. Lance awnsered from behind his paper not a second later. Cant we ever have a normal flight time? Say ten or so? Joey grumbled as he pushed away from the table and made his way to the refrigerator. A few seconds later returning to his chair with a glass of orange juice and a cold piece of pizza. Nope. Before anyone could comment anymore the phone ran. I got it. Lance stated as he got up and left the room, returning only a few moments later with the cordless black phone in hand and a slight frown on his face. Hey Justin, its for you. The police department. Getting in trouble with the law Curly? Chris asked when Justin returned Lances frown as he reached for the phone. What would Mama Harless say? Chris tisked a few times. Yes, this is Justin Timberlake...no....you..Lyndsey? The men in the kitchen around Justin all watched in concern as all the color left his face. Im on my way down. He lowered the phone from his ear, eyes wide and unfocused. J? Joey stood up from his chair and walked over to his friend, placing a hand on his arm. Justin blinked and looked around at his friends before speaking in a whisper. Lyndsey. They found Lyndsey. Those in the room traded confused looks. Lyndsey? Joey questioned. Whos Lynd- Something clicked and Joeys eyes widened as well. Lyndsey, your missing sister, Lyndsey? Lance and Chris eyes widened as well, all eyes on Justin. Alls he could do was nod. He snapped out of it a second later. Someone go wake up Jc. He turned from the room. Were going down to the police station. ~*~ Well, hes on his way. Officer Reynolds placed the phone he had just been speaking to back on its cradle, turning to look at the two young woman seated in front of him. They had walked into the station around an hour ago. The taller of the two appearing pale and nervous and shorter determined and sure. They had been stopped at the front for a minute and then been directed to his desk. He had greeted them and introduced himself, and they had done likewise before showing him the photocopy of the missing child flyer. He had looked at it and frowned. He remembered the case, he had been the officer to head it. He had looked back up at them and Madison had pointed at the girl introduced as Angela. Well guess what officer, she came home. He couldnt just go by the word of two strange girls. He knew who the Timberlakes were. Knew who Justin Timberlake was, and there was a possibility that these woman could be nothing more then a couple of fans. He had carefully expressed that opinion to the women. Are you blind?! Again it was Madison who spoke. Look at her! Look at the picture! Look at Justin Timberlake! Lia here IS the missing Lyndsey Timberlake! SHE is his twin! How can you not see the resemblance?! And Reynolds had. For a long while he looked at the picture in front of him and then at the girl. He drew up a mental picture of Justin Timberlake, not a hard thing to do since his daughters walls were covered in his face. He nodded. There was no denying it. He placed a call to the private number. Now that he was finished with the call he leaned back in his chair, folding his hands across his stomach. There were questions he knew he needed to ask, one in example what had happened to her, but he would wait a few minutes. The Timberlake girl was looking kind of pale. Oh my god... Lia looked like she was going to be sick. Madison quickly placed a hand on her friends back. Are you OK? Am I OK? Maddy, look whats about to happen here! She leaned her elbows on her knees and then placed her head in her hands. Im nervous as all hell and I think Im going to be sick. Oh no, dont do that. Madison exclaimed. Wouldnt want to meet Justin for the first time in years covered in this mornings breakfast. Lia picked her head up to stare at Madison, about to comment when Officer Renyolds spoke. Excuse me, He leaned forward again and rested his elbows on the desk. But there are a few questions I need awnsered to file in the report. The girls nodded and he proceeded to ask the questions which needed to be asked. Not long into the interview the officer who had been at the front came over to talk in quiet tones with Reynolds. A few moments later the conversation stopped, and the younger man walked away. Reynolds turned to the girls with a smile. Well, it seems that Mr.Timberlake has arrived. He watched as the girl first introduced as Angelia, now identified as Lyndsey, turned even whiter. He stood up first. Shall we? Madison stood up. Well, what are we waiting for? Lets go then! Lia didnt follow her lead. Lia? She asked in concern. I...I dont think I can do this. Lia confessed, looking up at Madison with wide eyes. No...no I cant. Madison rolled her eyes and bent to squat down in front of the other girl. Lia hun, you can so do this. You didnt come all the way over here to Memphis just to find out the truth and then chicken out? Your about to meet your brother! You have part of your past just over in the other room! Now come on, lets go meet him. Madison stood up and stared down at Lia for a moment. She watched as she took a few steadying breathes before standing up. She turned to face the officer who has stood patiently waiting for them. All right, lets go. Were going. He commented as he turned, the girls following him to the front. Thoughts flew through Lias head as each step she took drew her closer to the front of the building and the past. What if she was wrong about this? What if she was Lyndsey Timberlake? Maybe this was all a nightmare and she would wake up safe and warm in her bed in Tennessee. She felt a pressure on her hand and looked over at Madison who smiled at her. Its OK. She mouthed silently before giving Lias hand another squeeze and then taking a step back. Lia nodded and turned to face forward again. Just a few feet away from her stood a small group of men, one with his back facing towards her. She knew that one of those men was her family. She held her breath, suddenly feeling more nervous then even before. She closed her eyes and took another deep breath. Before she opened them she heard her name spoken by a surprised voice. Angelia?! She opened her eyes to see the man she had sat next to on the plane staring at her with wide eyes, but he attention was quickly diverted by a loud gasp. Immediately her eyes trained on the man whos back had been turned and her breath caught in her throat. Staring back at her were a pair of identical blue eyes on a face that was identical to hers, only more masculine. Everyone in the station had their attention on the pair as they stood in the front of the station, just staring. Finally Justin took a step forward, eyes glassy? Lynd-C? He questioned, his voice barely above a whisper. Lia stared a moment longer, the child-like pronunciation of the name stirring a memory she didnt know she had. She nodded, her vision becoming blurry with tears. He closed the distance between them in seconds. Now he stood in front of her, his blue eyes mere inches from her own. Then she was swept into his hug. She threw her arms around his neck. Tears slipped from her eyes and she could feel his own tears against her neck. The emotion in the room was high and a few people found tears in their own eyes as they watched the reunion between the two siblings. |
