| A pair of brown eyes peered around the corner of the house. No one was in sight, this was his break. Quickly he sprinted across the yard until he was safely crouched beside the large hedge, sandwiched between the plant and the fence. No one would be able to sneak up on him from there. Movement out of the corner of his eye caused him to turn his head to the left. Nothing, just a small bird. He would have to be patient. He looked down at the gun he held in his hands and checked to make sure that it was fully loaded. He smiled when he saw that it was. He thought he heard the sound of soft footsteps and he lifted his head just enough over the plant in front of him just enough so that he could scan the large yard. The sunlight reflected off the large inground pool, making it look like tiny diamonds floated in the water there. On the patio on the opposite side of the pool the windchime tinkled together as a breeze blew by. There was no on in the yard. He returned to his previous position, wiping an arm across his brow. Another soft noise. He looked over the bush once again and smiled widely. There stood Justin, peeking cautiously around the corner of the pool shack, his back facing the brown-eyed man. Quietly he began to move towards the youth, holding his gun ready. His eyes widened when he stepped on a small twig and it snapped loudly. His target had to have heard that. He stay still for a moment, his gun aimed and ready to fire should Justin turn around. He never did and the man continued on his short journey. Seconds later he shoved the gun in the middle of Justins back. Dont turn around. He commanded. Ouch! Dude, that hurt! Justin complained as he reached his hand behind him to rub when he had just been jabbed. To bad. the man shrugged though Justin couldnt see the gesture. He then deepened his voice. Are ya feeling lucky, punk? Actually, yes. Justin turned around and looked over the mans shoulders, a grin on his face. Hey Cassie! Chris eyes widened. He had been set up! Slowly he turned around to face the female that stood behind him, her water gun aimed at his chest. Hand your weapon to Justin and put your hands in the air! Thought you had me fooled, didnt you? Justin smirked as he accepted the Super Soaker from his friend. Chris didnt say anything, just stuck his tongue out at the younger man. Justin chuckled. So, what do you propose we do with him now? Cassie asked. Lets just soak him and leave him. We still have to find the flag. Justin replied as he pumped up the water gun and began to soak the older man. Cassie complied and pulled the trigger on the gun, sending a stream of cold water at Chris. It had been a full month since she had saved Justins life, and throughout that time had grown to be best friends with all of the guys. That day the group had a day off from recording and had called her up at eight in the morning just to ask that she come over to hang out that day. After threatening with death if they ever called her before noon again, she agreed. When she arrived at the Timberlake/Chasez/Kirkpatrick (-: I know that they dont live together anymore, but its just easier for me to write as if they do. :-) two hours later, the guys had immediately handed her a full water gun and told her that she as on Jc and Justins team. Before she could ask what was going on they launched into their game. Quickly she caught on that it was Capture the Flag that they were playing. Her flags team was one of Justins many bandannas, which they had to beg him to let them use. If that gets lost or dirtied, Justin had warned as he handed over the square piece of cloth, You both owe me a new one. Jc and Cassie only rolled their eyes at him as Jc snatched it out of his hand. Now the game was almost over. Lances team was down one member, maybe two if Jc had found either Lance or Joey. Of course, if either Lance or Joey (if they were both still alive) found Chris dead body, they could always just hand him another gun and he was back in the game. You guys suck, you know that? Chris whined. Love you, too. Cassie replied smugly as she peeked around the corner. All clear. She announced to Justin before taking off through the yard. The month that she had known all of the guys, she had learned much about them. She knew that Justins favorite color was baby blue, that Jc liked to sleep, that Lances first name was actually James, that Joey had grown up in Brooklyn, and that Chris had a nasty fear of heights. But that was all stuff that anyone could read in any teenie magazine around the world. She knews things that everyone else didnt. Justin and Britney and how they werent as innocent as people tried to say they were and that one time Joey had accidentally gotten a girl pregnant, but that she had lost the baby. The guys knew much about her to, but not everything. They didnt know about her dreams. Their were times when she had tried to tell them before, but she could never quite form the words to explain it. People before had thought her to be crazy when she had tried to explain to them about her ability to see future. Those people just didnt understand, and she feared that neither would the guys. IVE GOT IT!! Cassie whipped her head around to face Joey as he ran through the back yard, her teams flag held above his head. Moments later everyone had gathered around the pool, Jc and Justin sulking at the loss as Chris and Joey gloated about their victory. It was all our master plan, Chris began, I distract you and Joey gets the flag! It was perfect!! Joey looked at Chris and shook his head, What? That was never a plan. Cassie tuned them out and yawned. She hadnt slept well the night before. Ever since she had saved Justins life, she would be afraid to sleep at nights for fear of another dream. That was taking its toll on her. The times she had slept, however, her sleep had been dreamless. Tired? Lance asked as he appeared next to her. She nodded and rested her head on his shoulder. Didnt sleep much last night. She awnsered as a second yawn took over her body. This one turned out to be longer and she clapped a hand over her mouth as it reached its climax. Lance chuckled. Why dont you go on in the house then? Im sure the guys wont mind if you take a nap on the couch. He looked over the where his groupmates where fighting playfully. I doubt that they would even notice that you werent outside. Cassie nodded and lifted her head. I think Ill do that. Thanks Lance. She then leaned up and gave him a friendly peck on the cheek before disappearing into the house. She immediately made her way over to the comfortable couch in the living room and laid down, sighing as she closed her eyes. Within moments she was asleep. She began to dream. ~!~ Cassies dream ~!~ She stood in the middle of the mall parking lot, gazing around her nervously. People around her were either walking to their cars, loaded down with their purchases or preparing to enter the large mall. The familiar form of Justin was walking towards her, his own arms loaded with bags from his favorite stores. Cassie watched as he hit a button that was on his keys and she heard the doors to the vehicle on the car next to her unlock. She turned to look at the car, noticing for the first time that it was Justins Mercedes. Immediately she felt that something was wrong, but didnt know what. She wanted to warn Justin, about what she didnt know, even thought she knew that she couldnt. She watched as Justin placed all of his purchases into the trunk of his car before closing it gently. He then picked out the right key and walked over to the drivers side door. The knot of fear that was rested in the pit of her stomach grew as Justin slid into the drivers seat and placed his key in the ignition. He turned the key, and Cassie was blown into the air by what happened next. The car had exploded, Justin inside. It was a bomb. ~!~ End Dream ~!~ Cassie sat up quickly. No. Not again. Immediately she was running towards the back patio doors. She burst outside and quickly scanned the yard. On the lawn Lance, Chris, Joey and Jc were playing a small game of football. No Justin. Well lookie whos awake! Joey called out as he noticed Cassie standing on the patio. Have a nice nap? Jc asked as ditched the game and approached the younger girl. Immediately he knew that something was wrong. Her eyes were wide and fear filled and the look on her face was one of pure terror. Cassie, he began concerned. Whats wrong? What happened? Wheres Justin? She asked, her voice quivering. The other three men approached quickly and were now standing beside her. He went to the mall to pick up a few things. Why? Lance replied nonchalantly. They watched as her face turned milk white and the fear in her eyes increased ten-fold. Cassie felt as if she was going to throw up. We have to go find him. Hes in terrible danger. What do you mean, Justins in danger? Chris asked sharply as they quickly followed Cassie to the front of the house. Justin. Is. In. Danger. Cassie stated again as she quickly pulled open her car door and got in. The guys wasted no time in hoping in with her. We got that part! Jc exclaimed in frustration. What kind of danger?! Cassie quickly looked at him in her rear-view mirror, meeting his eyes seriously. She debated on telling them what she had seen in her dream, but decided against it I dont know. I just know that we need to get to the mall as fast as we can. She then quickly slammed on the gas peddle, throwing everyone back in their seats as they shot off towards the mall. |
