| Justin groaned as conciness slowly came back to him. He had such a horrible headache. He opened his eyes slowly and allowed them to focus on the dim light of the room he was in. He was laying on a matress on his side, facing a wall. His arms were tied behind him at the wrists and his feet tied at the ankles. He struggled a bit, trying to loosen his bonds. After a few minutes he stopped, his efforts earning him nothing but a slight rope burn. He lay un-moving for a moment, his mind working at what seemed like a hundred miles and hour as he tryed to think of some plan to get away. Nothing was comming to him. He tensed, suddenly aware of the soft breathing noises behind him. Who else was in the room? He waited for a few seconds and when there were no other sounds besides that of the breathing, he relaxed. He struggled to turn himself to his other side to see who was also occupying the room with him. It took a few minutes, but when he was finally laying on his left side his eyes widened. Cassie! She lay on the same mattress as he, facing him. Her eyes were shut and she was breathing deeply, asleep. She was close enought to him that her warm breath just managed to reach his face. Suddenly she moved her head and a groan escaped from her lips. Cassie? Cass, wake up. Justin urged as she shifted a little. Slowly her eyes opened, fear the prominant emotion shinning out from them. Justin? We have to get out! She whispered. I know, but how? She furrowed her brow in thought for a moment and Jusitn waited hopefully. She began to chew on her bottom lip and Justin remembered how earlier he had kissed her. Even for that breif moment his lips had touched with her, he had been amazed by how soft they were. Suddenly Cassie released her lip and grinned at him. Your going to have to flip over to your other side. Then when you do that your going to have to reach into my front pocket to get the pocket knife thats there. She explained. Justin was nervous for a second. Reach into her front pocket? If they wanted to get out of here in anything other then a body bag.... He followed her orders and in a few minuted he was in the position that he had orininally started in, facing the wall. He heard her scooting closer to him as best she could, and when she stoped he could feel her breath on the back of his neck. Ok now, reach into my left pocket. Justin concentrated on getting his hands into her pocket and in just a few minutes he extracted the red pocket knife. He could heard the smile in her voice. Good! Her voice then got more somber. This is going to be harder. Your going to have to cut my ropes. What?! He exclaimed, trying to twist his neck around to look at her. Im going to turn around so my back faces yours, then your going to cut the ropes. She explained as she began to turn. Cass, what if I cut you? You wont. Now start cutting. She commanded, now facing the oppsite side of the room. Jusitn sighed heavily and she inhaled as she felt him cautiously feel for the rope. He found it and a second later she felt the knife start sawing through. Good, keep cutting. There! She seperated her wrists and brought them in front of her, rubbing the soreness. She then picked up the knife and untied her feet before quickly freeing Justin. Now they were both free. They looked at each other and then around the room. Nothing but the matress, a door, and a window which showed the thick darkness of night. Out the window. Cassie commanded and Justin nodded. You first. Justin stated. Cassie looked at him in disbelif. You go first. She shook her head but listened and began to climb out, Justin firmly placing his hands around her stomach and helping push he up. As soon as she was out she turned around to face Jusitn again. Both people jumped when there was a noise from outside the door. Justin turned a panic-stirken face to Cassie. Hurry up! She urged as he to began to climb out. Seconds later he stood next to her, the door to the room slowly opening and sending a beam of light across the floor. RUN! The two ran as the sound of their captures loud cursing filled their ears, they didnt know where exactly they were running, but they were running. After ten minutes they finally stoped. They had somehow found their way to a small gas stop. Justin hunched over, his hands on his knees as he struggled to re-fill his lungs with oxygen. Cassie leaned against the buikding, her heart thudding heavily against her ribcage from the physical labor she had just done. Jus...Justin. What? He lifted his head, still breathing heavily. We have.... to... call the...guys. He nodded and straightened up, looking around him for a payphone. Over there. Cassie pointed and the two began to walk the short distance, their breathing becomming easier. Cassie looked around her nervously as Jusitn picked up the phone and patted his pockets, looking for some loose change. He found a quarter and placed it in the money slot, quickly dialing the familar numbers of his house. Cassie continued to watch the area around them. Had the man followed them after their escape? And if he had, would they be able to get away a second time? *(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)*(*)* He stood in the doorway of the room where they had been, pure rage making his blood boil. The sonofabitches had gotten away. A steady stream of curses flew from his mouth as he turned on his heel and stormed back up the stairs to his living room. He would find them again, and when he did, there would be no hesitancy when he killed them. |
