| The day was hot, the Flordia sun beating down mercilessly on the busy streets. Tourists rushed from one attraction to another, cameras in hand and mouse ears on head. Children drug their parents and older family members around behind them as they sought out Mickey Mouse, or Buzz Lighteyear, or Belle from Beauty and the Beast, or any other fictional charcter that lived and roamed at Disney World. Unfortunatly, Cassies task was not as easy as looking for a man in a giant mouse coustume. Frantically she looked around her, turning her body from the left to the right and around in circles as she searched for the young man from last nights dream. He had to be somewhere close by, this is the exact area that her dream had shone her. She had to find him before it was to late. She quickly glanced up at the top of the building where the man from her dream had hid, and she caught a glmipse of something metal in the sun. Her breath caught in her throat. A gun, just like her dream. She turned once more to her left and there he was. Dark sunglasses hid his eyes and a fishermans hat hid his hair, assuming he had any. He was squatted down in front of a little girl no more then six or seven, grinning widely at the happiness on her face. A mountain of a black man stood directly behind him, a small smile playing on his lips. The little girl held on a paper, shyly, and the young man made no hesistancy to grab it and smile more widely at her. Quickly he scribbled something on the paper and handed iy back to its original owner. From her point Cassie could see the large smile on the girls face, it was hard not to. Just as the young man was about to get up from the ground the little girl leaned in a whispered something in his ear, and Cassie could see the amusment on his face before he began to laugh. He pulled down his sun glasses just enough so that the girl in front of him could see his eyes as he gave her a wink, making her giggle before running back to where her mother stood smiling a few feet away. Cassie began to panic as she watched him begin to get up. No. She silently begged knowing that it would do no good. Stay down. Please stay DOWN! Her requests went unawnsered. She began pushing her way throught the crowded area, trying to get over to the young man who was completly oblivous to the danger he was in at the moment. GET DOWN!!! She yelled as she finally made her way over to them. Immediatly the large black man steped in the way, all traces of the small smile he wore on his face minutes ago gone. Now all he wore was a large frown. Before he could do anything, Cassie was pushed forward dramatically. She felt the pain in her shoulder before she even heard the gun shot. Get.....down... She managed to whisper one last time before fading into unconciuosness. Holy shit!!! Justin, get your ass into the nearest buliding. Lonnie ordered as he scooped the injured stranger into his arms. Jusitn just stood there in shock, people around him screaming as they scurryed for shelter. NOW!!! |
