Another normal, boring day.

That single thought ran throught Keeleys head as she blew a stray piece of hair away from her face only to have it fall back. She blew on it again, and having nothing better to do made a little game of it. Her new game only occupied her for a short period of time, less then five minutes before she grew bored of it and finally brushed it back cehind her ear. She wished that she was at home, lounging in her lawn chair beside her inground pool, but instead she was stuck behind the counter of the local dollar store.

Her summer job.

She hated it.

She sighed as she leaned her elbows on the counter. It was only her working that day. Mandy had been sick recently and Sian wouldnt be back from her Californian vacation fr another week. She swept her gaze around the store. It was as big as a Wal-Mart or any other big chain store, but it was bigger then most of the other small stores around town.  A lot of the stuff sold was nothing but junk, but  for some reason people seemed to like to spend all their extra dollars on the useless stuff.  That day, thought, very few people were into spending a their extra dollars, and there was only a total of thirty dollars in the register.  Leaning over, Keeley began to rummage through her bag, which she carried with her everywhere. After a few second search, she pulled out her Sony discman. Not quite sure what was inside since the last person to use it was Mandy (who had a wide range of musical tastes) , she clicked it open and grinned.

Nsyncs newest Cd, No Strings Attached.

Perfect.

Snapping it shut she poped theheadphones over her ears and turned it on. A few second later she jumped when the music began to blare through her head. She had momentairly forgotten about Mandys habit of turning the volume all the way up. She quickly turned the volume down to a reasonable sound level before closing her eyes. Nsync was her favorite music group and she often daydreamed about meeting them. Each dream was somewhat different. Sometimes shed run into them at a mall as she shopped for a new outfit, somtimes shed get stuck with them in an elevator for hours, and other times she would meet them at the local bookstore as she scoped out reading material. A smile crept across her face as another daydream took hold of her imignation.

The door to the store opened and five people entered. Each person wore a hat pulled low over their faces and a pair of dark and expensive looking sunglasses covered their eyes.

Keeley was completly oblivious to their presence, lost in her own world of music and daydream. The beginning strands of This I Promise You began to float through her head and, this being herfavorite song, she began to sing along quietly. The five figures stoped what they were doing and traded looks before turning to stare at the young girl behind the counter.

Hmmmm.... not bad.  One of the five stated to his companions as he pulled off his sunglasses to reveal aquamarine eyes, his four friends following suite. When all the glasses were pulled off, two  pair of brown eyes were revealed as well as another set of blue and a set of green.

Not bad at all. Came a reply from one of the brown eyed persons.

I belive that Justin was refering to her voice ,Joey, not  her.  A third person chuckled.  The persons speaking voice was deep, a hint of a southern accent pushing behind his words.

I was refering to her voice, but she aint bad either. The first person to speak, Jusitn, spoke again as he turned to look at his companions, a small lopsided grin on his face.

Im telling Britney you was looking!! The shortest of the quintet cried out playfully.

Chris man, just shut up. Justin stated, turning his now annoyed blue eyes to meet the brown eyes of Chris.  The last man, also the quietest, took a few steps towards the counter and the girl before Justin placed a hand on his shoulder.

      Jc, what are you doing?

Im going to make our presence know to her. Jc said as he stoped to face his friends.

Why? This is cool. Im enjoying the concert. Chris complained as he pulled off his hat to reveal short, spiky brown hair.

Because she obviously thinks that shes alone and its jsut not right that we listen to her. Jc explained. Its just not right.

I agree. The man with the deep voice spoke after clearing his throat.

Thank you, Lance. Jc nodded at his green-eyed friend before turning back towards the counter. Jc regonized the very end of the song, it was kind of hard for him not to when he sang it every night on stage. He finished his small trech to the counter, and just as he was about to tap her on the shoulder, her eyes opened.

Keeley opened her eyes as the ballad came to a close. She was not expecting there to be a person standing in front of her. In surprise she screamed and pushed away from the counter.  The stool that she sat on toppled backwards, and she went with it. She was now on the floor of the store, her eyes shut tightly as she muttered curses under her breath.

Way to make a fool of yourself. She muttered.

Are you alright, miss? A strangly familar yet un-regonized voice spoke from above her.  She squeezed her eyes shut even more then before as she felt her face flush.  She opened her eyes and stood up quickly, not looking at the person who stood in front of the counter.

Uhh... Im fine. She said quickly, the feeling of embarsement still very strong.  After all, she had just been caught singing aloud to an audiance she didnt know that she had, and then she had to go and fall from her sitting position. She took a deep breath before turning to face her costmer. She had to blink to be sure that who she saw standing in front of her wasnt some hilucination. The man in front of her didnt change or dissappar.  She then glanced behind him to see four other man. Slowly she lowered herself back on the stool.

Damn, She spoke aloud to herself, staring at the man in front of her in shock and amazment. I think I may have hit my head a little to hard. There is NO way that Nsync is standing in this store. This has to be some kind of a dream. Wake up, Keeley!

Aint a dream, girlie.  Jusitn stated as he came to stand beside his older friend.  And may I say that we really enjoyed your little performance? he offered her a wink.  Keeley covered her face with her hands as she felt her face flush even more severly.

Oh my god. She moaned. In all her daydreams she had never EVER imagined that she would embaress herself completly in front of these five amazing men.

Justin, leave her alone. Lance appeared behind the two with Chris and Joey.  Keeley didnt say anything. Didnt bring her hands from her face.  Its ok sweetie, no need to be shy.

Nah, wever heard worse. MUCH worse. Joey grinned at her. Slowly she removed her hands from her face. Five very hansome, grinning men stood in front of her. She took a deep breath before speaking.

Ok, so this isnt a dream. This is a nightmare.

WEre not THAT horrible. Chris exclaimed, causing Keeley to giggle a little.

No, your certinally not. Its just...God. I just made a complete fool of myself.

Yup, you- Lance smacked Chris upside the head before he could finish his comment.

Just ignore him, we all do. Justin shrugged. Chris threw the youngest man a look that was ment to be threatening but turned out more comical then anything else. Keeley was shocked over the presence of the pop-stars, but she tryed not to let that show to much.

So ummm.... what are you doing here? At this store? Keeley questioned.

    Shopping!! Chris exclaimed excidedly.

Shopping? Here? Doubt lay in Keeleys voice.

Yeah, why not? You got tons of cool stuff in here! Justin backed up Chriss previous comment. Keeley glanced around the store, her gaze falling on the many small porcelin angels, the bags of candy that lined the far wall, the aisle of easily broken childrens toys to her right, and finally to the men in front of her.

U mm, yeah. Lots of cool stuff.

You dont belive us?! Joey exclaimed. Keeley didnt awnser, jsut shrugged indifferently. Chris immediatly walked over to where there was a basin full of small foam balls and picked up a few. Immediatly an evil sort of grin found its way to his face.

Chris, why dont you jus- Jcs sentance got cut off because of the foam ball that hit him direct center of his forehead.  A second later the rest of the small balls rained down on the people still at the counter.

Oh thats it! Your going down old man!  Justin leaned over to pick up a few of the projectiles. Before anyone could count to three, the store turned into a battle zone.  Keeley was to stunned to do anything but sit at the counter in shock. She was broken from her stare when a bean bag frog smacked her right in the side of the head. She quickly looked in the direction from which it came to pinpoint the evil one who had thrown it, and she came up with Joey who was grinning at her like the cat who ate the canary.

FATONE!! Keeley laughed as she yelled out his name. Joey just stuck out his tounge before his eyes widened and he ducked to avoid the small pillow that was thrown at him. Keeley looked to where Justin stood next to the bins that held the pillows, a second pillow ready in his hands.

I got your back! He called over to Keeley with a wink before he was hit from behind by a tiny stream of water.

YOU ARE ALL AT MY MERCY!! Chris exclaimed as he showed the tiny water gun he held in his hand. Obviously he had found the employee bathrooms. Keeley found herself laughing so hysterically at these five men that tears began to form in her eyes and run down her cheeks.

A few seconds later she was aware of a loud, annoying ringing noise......

Keeleys head snapped up off of the counter and she looked around. No Nsync. No foam balls flying through the air. Just the same boring store, still empty.  It was all a dream. The CD had ended and the ringing was that of the phone to her left.  A dream. Sighing she picked up the phone.

      Mom and Pops dollar store.

Hey Keeley, its Mandy. Mandy coughed. Her voice was scratchy, but still regonizable. How goes it at work.

     Just another normal, boring day.
