Chapter 8

 

 

-Cephiro-

 

 

The Magic Swordsman, Lantis, was laying down on a tree. Hikaru made a promise to meet him and have a chat there today. However, as he waited, she didn't came.

 

 

Lantis : (She sometimes gets here late... but this is just too late.)

 

 

As Lantis wondered, he almost started to fall asleep... until he heard someone calling his name... It was his best friend from Autozam, Eagle Vision.

 

 

Eagle : Lantis !

Lantis : OK, I'm coming down, Eagle.

 

 

Lantis then leapt to the ground. He approached Eagle.

 

 

Eagle : So, how are you doing ?

Lantis : Fine. I was just waiting for Hikaru.

Eagle : Hikaru... I have a bad feeling about this.

Lantis : What ?

Eagle : Several hours ago, I detected her presence here in Cephiro. But, she suddenly vanished without a trace from the land.

Lantis : What !? You're saying that she has perished !?

Eagle : No... More like 'missing'.

Lantis : That's better. Still, I need to find out where she is.

Eagle : By the way, maybe this guy can help you.

 

 

Eagle then handed down a flyer to Lantis. It was Kelvin's advertisement paper, and he noted that he's free for any jobs now !

 

 

Lantis : A mercenary... through time and space ? This guy might be helpful if I want to find Hikaru...

Eagle : So, you'll ask for his help ?

Lantis : I have no choice. There's no spell in Cephiro that lets me go to another world. Only Hikaru can do it.

Eagle : I see...

 

 

Lantis then started to say Kelvin's name as the flyer instructed. However, Kelvin did not appear. Instead, Lantis felt a slight chill, and his body started to vanish from feet to head.

 

 

Eagle : Lantis !? What happened !?

Lantis : Do not worry. That guy sent me a telephaty to transport me to his place.

Eagle : In other words, teleportation... Good luck.

 

 

Eagle watched as Lantis vanished...

 

 

-Kamui Kotan, Japan-

 

 

A young girl entered Nakoruru's house, panting and breathing heavily. She is her sister, Rimururu. She noticed that Nakoruru vanished, and she has searched the whole Kamui Kotan herself, but she found no trace of her. She started to cry.

 

 

Rimururu : Sis, where are you...?

 

 

 

Just then, a guest entered the house. It was Galford and Poppy.

 

 

Galford : Hey, Rimururu ! So, how are you ?

Rimururu : Galford, did you see my sister ?

Galford : Nakoruru ? Umm... nope.

Rimururu : Where were you ? Defeating bad guys ?

Galford : Well, duh ! It's my job !

Rimururu : Did you see my sister being kidnapped or something ?

Galford : No...

Rimururu : Then where is she !?

Galford : Hey, wait... Are you saying that Nakoruru went missing !?

Rimururu : I've searched throughout Kamui Kotan, and I found no clues. I asked the Spirits of Nature, but they said she's gone !

Galford : This is weird... do you think the flow of nature is being disrupted ?

Rimururu : ... No. That means it's not some sort of bad demons who kidnapped sis.

Galford : Must be someone out of this world...

Rimururu : Then, what should I do !? Boo-hoo...

Galford : Maybe I can get some help with this suspicious mercenary...

 

 

Galford then took out a paper... yet another of Kelvin's flyer !

 

 

Galford : This guy said that he's through time and space... maybe he CAN help me find Nakoruru.

Rimururu : Just do anything to bring my sister back, Galford ! Please !!

Galford : Okay... okay...

 

 

Galford then said Kelvin's name as instructed. And he also received the telepathy and was teleported. However, Poppy was left behind.

 

 

Poppy : *whimper*

Rimururu : Don't worry, Poppy ! While Galford is away, you can stay with me !

 

 

-Peterny, Eternal Sphere-

 

 

Fayt entered the inn, with almost no enthusiasm. Of course, this attracted the attention of his friends.

 

 

Cliff : Yo, Fayt. You look gloomy.

Fayt : ...

Nel : Did something happen to you ?

Fayt : Uh...

Albel : Wait. Where is that woman ?

Sophia : Didn't you said that you'll come with Maria ?

Fayt : ....

 

 

Fayt didn't say anything else and he left the inn alone.

 

 

Mirage : I wonder what's wrong with him.

Albel : I'll drag him here if I have to. I don't want him to waste more of my time, which has been wasted already with this stupid 'reunion' party !

Nel : *sigh*

 

 

Albel then went out, and he approached Fayt, who was sitting in front of the chapel.

 

 

Albel : All right, fool. Either you start telling me where is Maria or I'm gonna split you into half.

Fayt : Maria... she...

Albel : Spit it out... NOW.

Fayt : I was with her that time... but I failed protecting her ! Now she's gone !

Albel : ... So, that's it ? What a fool... unable to protect your friend.

Fayt : ...

Albel : Speaking of which, a moment ago I received this stupid flyer. It doesn't interest me, but it may interest a fool like you.

 

 

Albel then handed down a piece of paper to Fayt, before he left. The paper was Kelvin's advertisement.

 

 

Fayt : Mercenary through time and space...? Hmm... Luther is already dead, it can't be him who took Maria away. Her captor may be someone from another planet or realm... Maybe I ought to try his offer...

 

 

Fayt then began to call Kelvin's name as instructed in the paper. Then, he received some telepathic words and he was teleported away.

 

 

-Xia Pi, China, Three Kingdoms Era-

 

 

Because of Zhen Ji's absence, Cao Pi's plan to burn the Shu supply depot failed. Because of it, the Shu forces began to push Cao Cao back.

 

 

Sima Yi : This is ridiculous. My lord, there's no choice left here but to retreat.

Cao Pi : ... It really can't be helped. All units, retreat !!

 

 

Cao Pi ordered a mass retreat to the capital of Xu Chang. Several days later, in his throne... (a/n : All these events happened after Cao Cao and Liu Bei died)

 

 

Cao Pi : Darn it ! How could we fail !?

Sima Yi : I suppose… Lady Zhen Ji failed her task.

Cao Pi : I know… damn, where could she be ?

Sima Yi : The scouts have reported in. It's about Zhen Ji.

Cao Pi : What of her ?

Sima Yi : No. She's not in her former tracks. Our spies also snuck into the prison cells in Xia Pi, but there's no signs of her.

Cao Pi : What !? She vanished !? Is she kidnapped ?

Sima Yi : I do not know who could have captured her... But, I found something interesting.

 

 

Sima Yi then handed Cao Pi a piece of paper... Kelvin's advertisement.

 

 

Cao Pi : ... Interesting... This man can save Zhen Ji, while we deal with the Shu forces !

Sima Yi : My lord, if I was you, I'd be more careful with that instructions.

Cao Pi : It's a bet... but I'm willing to take this bet to save my wife. You know how much I love her.

 

 

Cao Pi then read Kelvin's name as instructed. He also started to receive a telepathy and started to vanish.

 

 

Sima Yi : My lord ! I told you already !

Cao Pi : Nothing to worry about ! Sima Yi, take care of my troops while I'm gone !

 

 

Then, Cao Pi vanished through thin air...

 

 

-Mikawa, Japan, Warring States era-

 

 

Hanzo returned to Mikawa, to his master, Ieyasu Tokugawa. He came to Ieyasu's chamber. Inside there were Ieyasu himself and one of his best bodyguards, Tadakatsu Honda, father of Ina.

 

 

Ieyasu : Hanzo, you have returned.

Hanzo : ... Mission failed.

Tadakatsu : What do you mean ? Don't tell me...

Hanzo : Ina was taken away by someone. I was unable to track that person.

Tadakatsu : ......

Ieyasu : Tadakatsu...

Tadakatsu : Was there any signs of the Oda army ?

Hanzo : No. Not even the Sanada.

Tadakatsu : I have suspected the Oda, but it appears to be wrong. It may be someone else.

Hanzo : ... The Sanada's been acting suspicious outside. They might be planning to attack Ueda.

Ieyasu : We will have to take care of it. As for Ina, maybe this man can help.

 

 

Ieyasu then put out a paper, Kelvin's advertisement. He handed it to Tadakatsu.

 

 

Tadakatsu : Hmmm. We don't have any other choice. I will call him.

 

 

Tadakatsu then called Kelvin's name as instructed, and he received telepathic messages and started to vanish.

 

 

Ieyasu : Tadakatsu, what happened !?

Tadakatsu : This man wants to speak with me in his place. Hanzo, guard my lord while I'm away !

Hanzo : Understood...

 

 

Then, Tadakatsu vanished truly. What does Kelvin want to say to the five men ?
