Chapter 4

 

 

We now switch into one huge hall. There's a big machine containing a tube on the left, and a tentacle on the right. The tentacle was attached to Maria; who was bound and gagged on an metal chair; specifically at her left chest, where her heart was. And inside the tube was Biwig.

 

 

Biwig : All right, begin the process !!

 

 

Biwig snapped his finger and the Vendeeni scientists began to operate the machine. The tentacles began reading Maria's genes and copying it to the main board.

 

 

Maria : Hmmmmpphh !! Mmmmmff !!

 

 

Maria struggled to no end, hoping that it would make some malfunction to the machine, but it was no use. And she was too panicked to use her Alteration gene to mess up with Biwig's machine. And the tube was slowly filled with gas from the machine.

 

 

Biwig : AHAHAHA !! YESS !! I can feel it !! The power of the Alteration Gene !! HAHAHAHAHAHA !!!

 

 

Biwig was too busy laughing, that he didn't notice some guards were taken down from behind... and a figure came out behind the guards... Albel.

 

 

Albel : Surprise, maggot.

Biwig : What !? You...!

Maria : Mmmmpph !

Albel : Well then, masked worm...  you can start peeing on your pants or say your prayers... your choice.

Biwig : Ha ! A scum like you will be easy ! Get him !!

Albel : Stay away from me worms ! I'm warning you !!

 

 

Albel's intimidation didn't work as the guards advanced to him.

 

 

Albel : Hmph... only death awaits worms who challenge me... DRAGON ROAR !!!

 

 

Albel then used his Dragon Roar and that technique pretty much lay waste on the guards. Biwig was getting a bit shaken as Albel approached him slowly.

 

 

Biwig : Pathetic fools...

Albel : It doesn't matter how many maggots you've got. I'll crush them all... including you !

Biwig : But you forgot one thing... I have acquired the Alteration gene !

Albel : So what ?

Biwig : EAT THIS !!!

 

 

Biwig shot his rifle. Albel dodged it, but in the ground where Biwig shot his rifle, a small explosion occurred, as if there was a mini grenade thrown in there.

 

 

Albel : So the fool got a new toy huh ? It's not quite impressive.

Biwig : Die !!

 

 

Biwig then shot his rifle again... the rifle shot now turned like a laser. Albel once again dodged it, and he began charging forward. Maria decided that she needs to help him, and so, she occasionally tried to shout 'Look Out !' even though she was gagged, and only muffled voices came out. Finally, Albel got close with Biwig and kicked him on the face, knocking him down.

 

 

Maria : Mmmmff !

Albel : Shut up, woman ! Your 'Mmmpphh'-ing decreased my concentration to dodge, fool !!

Maria : Mmff !?

Albel : Keep quiet, or I'll leave you bound and gagged here !

Maria : *muffled gulp*

Albel : Besides, you look and sound really cute this way... It might be even worth more than killing a worm like him !

Maria : ....

Biwig : What did you just call me !?

Albel : W-O-R-M. Worm. You listening, worm ?

Biwig : Why you !!

 

 

Biwig then shot his rifle again, and Albel dodged it again. The bullet pierced through the wall and just missed Maria's head a little. She was shocked, but didn't dare to shriek... because it appeared that Albel's threat worked. Albel moved forward, dodging Biwig's shots again, and used his Hand of Doom to knock Biwig down. After a little while, Albel prepared for a finishing blow.

 

 

Albel : Now you die ! DOUBLE SLASH OF FURY !!

 

 

Albel then began slashing Biwig upwards and downwards. Surprisingly, Biwig didn't fall, so he received all the slashes from Albel. Finally, Biwig knelt down powerlessly. Albel just kept silent as he moved to Maria and slashed all the ropes that bound her and she removed the gags herself.

 

 

Biwig : How... how could the great me... be defeated...? Even after I got the Alteration Gene...

Maria : The gene can be effectively used only by me. You should have known that !

Albel : And it's not the great who are strong... It's the strong who are great. And I am the strong one !!

Maria : Umm... Albel ?

Albel : Yeah ?

Maria : ... Thank you.

Albel : Bah. You're just a bonus. I'm targetting him at the first place.

 

 

Albel didn't realize that slowly Biwig crawled to get a switch. And as he pressed it, the alarm rang loudly.

 

 

Computer : Self destruction sequence initiated !

Biwig : HAHAHA !! If I cannot acquire it, then I shall destroy it !! Die, all of you !

Albel : Oh, just die already, maggot ! PALM OF DESTRUCTION !

 

 

Albel sent one Palm of Destruction and that hit Biwig. He was slowly vaporized due to that move.

 

 

Maria : We should find an escape shuttle, quick ! Let's go to the emergency exit !

 

 

Albel had to follow Maria to find an emergency exit, as she's more familiar in this kind of term. Eventually, they found a shuttle, and set it to head to Elicoor II in auto pilot mode. They escaped just in time as the ship exploded.

 

 

Maria : It's over...

Albel : In any case... victory has been achieved.

Maria : That's... very unlikely of you, Albel.

Albel : What ?

Maria : I never thought you would risk your life saving me.

Albel : If that fool Fayt didn't told me to, I might just leave you... Besides, you have been useful that time when fighting that worm claiming himself as Creator, Luther. So, it's payback.

Maria : ... Can I say it again ?

Albel : ...

Maria : Thank you, Albel.

Albel : ...

Maria : Albel ?

Albel : Zzzzz....

 

 

Albel already fell asleep. Maria just sighed. But soon, she would hear something from Albel's mouth.

 

 

Albel : *grumble*... Stupid body... Zzzz... looks like a girl's body... *grumble*... no wonder Vox kept picking on me... Zzzz... I hate my body... Zzzz... Should've said that... Zzzzz... during the Crimson Scourge ceremony.... *grumble* Zzzzz....

 

 

Maria was a bit surprised. Albel... complaining on his body build ? Maria then took a glance to Albel from the front. Indeed, she could see that his body is skinny and looked as if he got boobs.

 

 

Maria : (Albel, you saved me. Maybe this is the least I can do to pay you back...)

 

 

As the Alteration gene began to activate again, Maria moved her head to Albel's and slowly kissed him on his cheek...

 

 

Fayt and Cliff were walking on the Sanmite Steppe, when suddenly they see the space shuttle landing there. And Albel came out of there, with Maria.

 

 

Fayt : Maria ! You're safe !

Maria : Sorry to make you guys worry.

Fayt : Albel, how could we...

Albel : ... ever thank you ? Bah... you fool is so easy to predict.

Cliff : Hmmm... hey, are my eyes outta whack or Albel looked really different here ?

Albel : What do you want to say ? Spit it out, fool.

Cliff : Maybe you should look down and look at your body.

Albel : Hm... What the !?

 

 

Albel realized one thing as he looked down... He may be skinny, but he no longer have that thing that looked like boobs ! He looks just as normal as the other skinny men !

 

 

Albel : That... that thing is gone !? MUHAHAHAHAHA !!! This feels great !!

Fayt : What happened here ?

Maria : Well... I wanted to thank him for rescuing me. And I accidentally heard him mumbling about having a girly body. And yes, he did have things like boobs on his chest. So, I kissed him, and by doing that, I used my Alteration Gene to alter Albel's body.

Fayt : Really ? Well, I think Albel was worried about that problem last time...

Cliff : That's one story all right ! Hey, Albel, I think you owe Maria a thing.

Albel : .......... Uh....... Maria....

Maria : Yes ? What is it ?

Albel : ..........

Maria : Come on, if you have something to say, say it.

 

 

Much to everyone's surprise, Albel held Maria's shoulders, like hugging her.

 

 

Albel : ......... T... thank... you...

Maria : ... You're welcome.

Cliff : Whoa, it sure is hard for him to say thanks.

Fayt : Yeah. With that kind of personality...

Albel : Well then, I'll get back to my daily training then. So long...

Fayt : Take care.

Albel : Hmph...

 

 

Albel then left the scene, as Cliff and Maria bid him farewell too. As he walked, he thought of his decision before to save Maria.

 

 

Albel : Well, at least saving her finally got me something... Finally, no more that damn 'boobs' thing ! Aaah... Nothing like it, HAHAHA !!!

 

 

Albel then continued his original path as a warrior that live and die in battlefield...
