For any first time visitors to the site I will firstly explain what the idea behind having weekly columnists was...
For one or two fans (per "big" North East team) to write their own personal thoughts on issues about their club on a weekly basis. This would allow true supporters to have a say on what was happening rather than the usual pundits etc that we will see on TV (is it just me or are M.O.T.D. always focusing on more Southern teams. And usually being biased towards them!).
The idea was based around the hugely sucessful teletext "fanzines view" and we thought that it could be popular on this site and be something that would attract supporters back week after week to read over the articals and then express whether they agreed or disagreed with what was said though the message boards that we provide here. That was the theory anyway!
Unfortunatly despite recieving emails from a number of people stating an interest in taking part this interest was never followed up. So after four months of heavily plugging the opportunity with no joy we decided to leave it and concentrate on other areas of the site.
Incidentally you can still use the message boards whenever you want and this way you are not tied down to a weekly commitment of writing a long atrical that has to be posted by email! Also if anyone has any new ideas of sections that could be added to the site could you please let us know as we are desperate for ideas!!
