*Nick*

I was still in a state of shock. I never would have guessed that Shelby would be our opening act. I knew she had a great voice and could dance, but I didn't actually think she would make a living out of it.

"Shelby's hot, Nick! I can't believe you know her!" AJ grinned as the limo driver dropped Kevin off at his house.

"Yeah! Damn! You have to tell me the "long story"!" Brian said eagerly.

"I don't want to right now," I argued.

"Please!" AJ begged.

"No."

"Please!" Brian tried this time.

"Nope."

"Please!" Howie, Brian, and AJ said at the same time.

"All right! Fine!" I gave in. I told them everything and answered all their questions.

"Man, Nick! You must feel really bad!" Howie commented.

"I do. I looked in her eyes tonight and I saw so much pain and hurt," I told them sadly.
er! She probably hated me!

"Apologize!" Brian beamed.

"Seriously, Bri! Do you think saying I'm sorry is actually going to work? It's been seven years! Seven long years with two phone calls and one letter!"

"Guess not. But, what else can you do?"

"I don't know. I could sit down and have a talk with her," I reasoned, but I was still doubtful.

"And say sorry," Howie added.  "Buy her something. Roses or jewlery," AJ suggested.

"Jewlery," Brian said. "Roses die sooner or later."

"Yeah. Thanks for your help." The limo driver stopped the vehicle and I climbed out and walked to my front door.

***********************************************************************************************

The next three days went faster then I wanted them to. I wasn't quite ready to talk to her. I'd bought her a white gold bracelet, and Brian said it was the perfect forgiveness persent. I hoped it was! I have to admit I was kind of developing feelings for her. You know, the more then friends ones!

"All right, guys! Load the bus!" Shelby's mom ordered.

"I thought I got my own bus, mom," Shelby complained gribbing the balck backpack strap over her right shoulder.

"You will, hon. It comes in two weeks. They were still working on it and said they are putting more stuff in it since it wasn't done," she explained.

"Oh," Shelby said disappointedly and followed everyone on the bus and looked back at her mom to see her walking to the bus the dancers and other managment rode.

"Where you going, mom?"

"Oh, honey, I'm riding the other bus. You guys can get to know each other better that way."

"Mom!" she groaned.

"Now Shel, I know you're shy around people you don't know, but you've known Nick for a long time. He'll introduce you guys again. Right, Nick?" her mother questioned me.

"Yes, Mrs.Cholson." I nodded my head.

"See, Shelby! I'll talk to you when we stop for lunch. Bye." She kissed her eldest daughter's cheek and boarded the other bus. Shelby sighed heavily and followed me onto the bus.

"Okay, guys! Lets pick bunks!" AJ called us all into the bunking room.

"I want the top left one," Kevin said.

"I get the one on the top right," Brian called.

"One under Kevin is mine," Howie informed us.

"Mine is under D!" AJ smiled tossing his bag on it.

"Guess that leaves us." I looked over at Shelby and she looked down at the floor.

"I'll take the bottom one," she softly replied which left the bunk under Brian's mine.

"I have an idea!" AJ said with a twinkle in his eye which meant trouble.

"What's that, Bone?" Howie wondered.

"Truth...or...dare," AJ answered saying the words slowly.

"Okay." Everyone agreed and we headed to the entertainment room.
