For You Chapter 3: *Reuniting* (c) 2000 The N.C. Daily Dreamer
*Shelby*
I stepped out of my room at seven o'clock wearing the outfit Alea had bought me. My shoulder lengthed dark blond hair was wavy from the curlers and my bangs were curled like always. I touched the star on my necklace. Nick had given it to me so I wouldn't forget him. If only I could! I didn't have to power to take the necklace off. It'd worn it since he put it on me. God, I missed him!
"Shelby!" Alea yelled up the stairs,"Mom and the limo are here already."
"I'm coming!" I retrived my purse from my dresser and marched downstairs to see mom and Alea standing at the door.
"Oh, Shelby! You look absolutly beautiful!" my mother smiled at me. I looked over at my sister and saw her long blond hair on top her head in curls being held up by clips.
"You look beautiful too, Alea," I commented her and she grinned.
"So do you."
"Well, my two very enticing daughters, are we ready to go?" my mother linked her arms with ours beaming brightly. Once we were in the limo we were escorted to Mateno's. . ~*~
"Thank you," I smiled as the limo driver took my hand and helped me out.
"You're welcome, Miss Cholson." I stood looking at the resturant dumbfoundedly. It was the fanciest resturant in town and I'd never even dreamed of eating there.
"Don't stand there, honey! Come on!" my mother grabbed my arm and pulled my inside.
"Reservation please?" the host said politly.
"Cholson. Party of eight."
"Yes. You're early, but we have a table open for you." He grabbed eight large menus.
"Right this way please."
"What time is it, mom?" I wondered as I sat down.
"7:20, dear," she said once she glanced down at her watch.
"So, did you get your last song wrote?"
"Uh... yeah."
"How long did it take you?"
"Um... 'bout an hour and a half. Something like that," I answered. For some reason I was really nervous. When I get nervous I get really cold and my hands start to shake. That's what was happening and I looked over at the door. I saw five guys standing around but I couldn't see their faces.
"That's good. The CD comes out in two weeks," my mom pointed out as the host came up to the table.
"The rest of your party is here, ma'ma," he said and behind his were the five guys I'd seen. My eyes traveled to the blond. I about died. It was HIM! It was Nick!
*Nick*
I sighed as I climbed out of the black limo after the guys. I didn't want to meet the girl who would be opening for us. Ever since Howie has mentioned Shelby's name, I couldn't think of anything else. We stepped inside the elegant resturant and I looked around at the tables. I saw two young looking girls and an older woman.
"Last name please," the host said.
"Cholson," Kevin answered him.
'Cholson? Oh, God! It's her! She's our opening act!' I thought.
"Right this way." The host took us to the table I'd noticed and I stood behind Brian. I was taller than him so I couldn't hide. It was HER! My jaw dropped at what I saw. She's grown up a lot! She was so beautiful I couldn't take my eyes off her.
"Hello, gentlemen," her mother stood and so did her sister and she.
"These are my daughters. Shelby, your opening act, and Alea, one of her dancers and back-up singers."
"Hello," Kevin said.
"I'm Kevin. This is Howie, AJ, Brian, and..."
"Nick," Shelby replied looking up at me. I saw the anguish and hatiness in her baby blue eyes. I just wanted to fall to my knees and beg for her fogiveness.
"You two know each other?" AJ asked looking from Shelby to me.
"Yeah. We were best friends until I joined the group," I stated softly.
"Nick? Nick Carter?" Karen smiled at me.
"Yeah. It's nice to see you again Ms. Cholson." She hugged my and pulled away.
"My! You've grown!" She stared up at me and clapped her hands together.
"Well, lets sit and order!" Everyone took a seat and I ended up sitting beside Alea and Brian. I opened my menu and I held it close to my face. I didn't want her to see me. I was ashamed for not keeping my word.
"Hey!Nick!" Brian whispered.
"What?"
"Why are you holding that up to your face?"
"Long story," I told him looking at the necklace around her neck. I saw the star and knew it was the one I gave her to remember me. I was surprised she was still wearing it.
"Oh." Brian nodded and looked through his menu.
