| WHO ARE WE? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Created in 1922, the Niagara District Firefighters' Association has become a regional organization consisting of 44 member fire companies located in the Niagara Region and Haldimand County that participate in meetings and events to better serve their communities. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| OUR OBJECTIVES ARE: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| To develop a thorough understanding of the firefighting requirements, To promote fire protection and prevention, To interchange ideas and information concerning firefighting, To co-operate with the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office and other regulatory bodies, both Provincial and Federal to obtain the enactment of legislation that will be helpful to the fire service in general and to secure the modification of laws, rulings and regulations that may be of interest to the fire service. |

| ADVANTAGES OF MEMBERSHIP | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Changing conditions, new legislation, varying administrative policies and new challenges for the fire service necessitate continued activity and co-operative effort on the part of the fire departments, which can only be secured through a Regional Association. The Association needs numerical strength and support to add to its effectiveness. Membership in the Association is insurance that your firefighting interests are being protected. There is not a firefighter alive who does not need to keep up-to-date in the matter of Fire Education. We provide: Monthly Educational Meetings Annual Fire School Training Skill Competitions and Games ~Camaraderie Among Fellow Firefighters~ |

| HOW IT WORKS | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Officers are elected by the members; a Secretary is continuously engaged in the Association activities. Standing and Special committees handle the various phases of the work of the Association. Monthly meetings and an Annual Convention serve to keep members informed and involved. Minutes are circulated to all fire departments in the Association's territory | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
